Interesting as the listing says this is the 1980 version
Well Jason isn't in the 1980 version as he doesn't appear until the second part. So he shouldn't be on the inside art if it's the 1980 edition....

It looks like they've tried to give this 2009 release the original 1980 style cover but they've just confused the **** out of things!

So does this mean the Mondo X SteelBook is the 2009 reboot as well? It was part of the Warner wave.
I've always been confused as to why Friday The 13th was in the Warner Mondo X wave since the original was made by Paramount Pictures.

OK I just looked it up. The Mondo X SteelBook is the original 1980 film. I didn't realize that Warner rebooted this in 2009 so I guess they must have the rights and that's why the original was included in the Warner Mondo X wave.

Warner USA took over distribution of 600 back catalogue USA paramount titles in 2013

Friday the 13th (1980) is one of the paramount back catalogue titles now distributed by Warner USA

Friday The 13th (1980) International Distribution has been Warner when film was in cinemas so UK/International DVD/Blu-ray releases is still Warner.
Mondo X release was international release.

Blu-ray Disc in photo though on best buy website listing is 2009 film lol

Not sure if their listing is correct that it's the 1980 film or that they have put wrong disc in photo

Great news this is getting a steelbook release but not convinced by the choice of artwork ... although decapitated Jason clear homage to some of the original films releases ...

Would have preferred the spine to have a less angular title and more 'interesting' like on the front ...

... and with the black opening edges the classic mask image would be perfect for the back:-
