Price is £24.99 same as the other 2D/3D steelbooks

You would of thought it would be a bit cheaper considering when this came out and it's only a lenti extra
Compared to the original. Cheap to make. Especially whoever they get to make the uk Disney ones

Disney trade prices are high compared to other film distributors

It is almost impossible to run a business without greed lol. Look at FA and other premium retailers flooding the market.

I'm on about pricing for a film that's 2 years old

Look at new x men films with 3D or dawn of the apes etc from Hmv. Yeah only £2 cheaper but if they were to rerlease them down the line I bet they would be cheaper than the original release price.

The new spideys from hmv with lentis were much cheaper than the original steels

Pacific rim was a decent priced 3D 2d steel. Even the new Star Trek beyond with a lenti is cheaper and thats actually new (the exact same package as these disneys/ Pixar/ Marvel lenti waves). Same for the ghostbusters steel which even has a bonus disc, gloss and amaizng art (much better art than these releases)

With Disney - Marvel and Pixar. All the re releases are the same price as the original release.

I know what your saying but you need to understand what I mean. And also Disney go and release 10 re releases at a time all at £24.99 (minus rocketeer - which is a shocker it's not more expensive tbh) - they can still make money without charging the original release prices

And I'm not moaning for the sake of it, I've bought some of these re releases. Just pains me to see them ask for exactly the same prices each time regardless of "oh its Disney they always charge higher" .... so!!..... That's really not a answer to a debate .

And before anyone can say "oh the extra £8 is for the lenti" or something. Well look at a kimchi non Exclusive steel (like zootopia) and then look how much extra it is for the collection exclusive with a full slip or lenti, book, pet, art cards and poster or somthing. It's literally a couple of dollars
And we get shafted on the lentis in the uk with Disney

Well there is nothing to argue out there but when compared to these so-called premium retailers, most of the UK Steels are fairly priced. Please PM me when FilmArena lowers their price even on their standard release.

Let's remember that Frozen UK Steelbook consistently outperformed every other editions including Blufans and Kimchi during its prime days. Even now some sealed copies sell for 40 which is quite high.

Gone are those good old days where we used to get great quality Steels for 10.99. :(

As long as you keep buying them and they keep selling out, they'll keep charging that. Can you blame them?

So glad I have very little interest in Disney steels. Trying to collect them all must be a constant drain on the wallet.....

Just because a certain steel goes for a certain price on the secondary market it should not affect the price of a re release from the same company minus all the bells and whistles a premium company might add

Again you say fairly priced and yeah your right but you can't compare a bare bones steel from the U.K. That might include a 3D disc and from what we have seen have appauling lentis compared to what some of these asian retailers knock out. Only bad thing ATM is the currency conversions. They petty much never fail on WEA and extras especially lentis and slips.

And im 100% with you on FAC. They are the premium zavvi over saturating with pretty much every WWA steel. And when the prices were better it was a bit more acceptable but I don't think they have the quality compared to others IMO plus if they focused on more WEA it would be much better. Their WEA steels seem nice. I love Birdman and John wick. And the prices would be slightly more justifiable for WEA steels and better lenti magnets

Of course

That's why half way through their Disney and Pixar collection I stopped pre ordering and waiting for price drops or 2 for 1s

I think what Zavvi are trying is to set the price the same to start with, sell as much as they can and then gradually drop the price. It makes perfect sense to start offering heavy discounts only when you want to clear your stock desperately. Also I think the price could be 20% lower for us in the UK if they didn't add the shipping cost. In short, UK has subsidised the cost for overseas buyers.

Sadly If I ran a business, I would exactly do the same.

Don't forget your favourite phrase "Sadly, the weak pound" :D These are printed in Denmark right? So, I think that could also be a factor (although I can see them being this price even if the £ was strong)

Bring on another needless crappy Zavvi lenti. I do want the steel, just not at that price.

Artwork is crap! All this needed was the original design with a title on the spine and in FULL GLOSS! and it would destroy the rest. This is just utter rubbish. Elsa ONLY and in FULL GLOSS! When will someone get it right!

Lol zavvi haters?

You should read what we are taking about mate. It's Disney

And a forum

Its the same thing every zavvi thread, the same people flooding threads with "I will not pay, they should do this, that should do that, wah wah wah" its so annoying its the same thing time after time.

I get that its a fourm but i thought this was a place where people come for information on steelbooks etc... not a site with threads full of pissing and moaning.

With all due respect a forum is for discussion, as soon as you tell people what they're allowed to discuss it's no longer a forum.

here we go again...... another thread derailed due to Zavvi haters, this has gotten old really quickly.
I get where you're coming from but I'm sure you appreciate that collectors are very passionate and sometimes obsessive about the stuff they collect and that they have strong emotions regarding these items.
You will be also aware that the steelbook police do step in from time to time at their discretion to give warnings and turn down the temperature by removing provocative and offensive remarks.

I personally don't feel that the issue is with Zavvi even though there are still people around who should know better and who stubbornly persist with their tiresome illusion that a steelbook design or finish is down to Zavvi (or HMV et al.) . . . lol. . . instead of the real culprits - the studio and/or the manufacturer.

Of course there are many decent U.K. steelbooks around and almost as many not so decent . . . and this thread for the new FROZEN (or the new TOY STORY as another example) is for one of the latter - I'm afraid to say - only because of the choice of front artwork.
