Stanley Kubrick directs this war drama starring Matthew Modine, Adam Baldwin and R. Lee Ermey. Detailing the dehumanizing effect of military combat, the film follows a platoon of Vietnam conscripts as they join the US Marines and undergo rigorous boot camp training overseen by sadistic drill instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (Ermey).
