Customer Unboxing from USA
Arrow USA Edition

Not my video

I see he got this from arrow usa? I thought arrow was only in uk or do they use others to sell there products in usa.
For weight and size shipping box does not come that much bigger than edituon but yes nice thought with layer of bubble around edition.
Surely this set is to big for amazon to stick in a jiffy bag lol.
But would love to know how there one sends.

Did someome say before that older orders that was released and shipped, that no longer ship get upgraded to faster shipping at no cost?
I know im prime in my countries amazon and you can only order when they come into stock and get free shipping.
A recent order they sent through my amazon and prime came very fast dhl express, but another by dpd is taking much longer.

So its probably anyone's guess how they will pack this or even the method of shipping they use.

I know he never bought i uk release its usa release. I have had this pre ordered since feb on amazon usa site and zavvi.
As usa exchange rate is in my favour now im going with the usa edition.
I canceled my zavvi order as been let down too many times with them half arsed packing they often do.
If exchange rates go against my favour then i may consider canceling usa order and grab elsewhere.
Arrow uk would have been an option but there shipping is just too much these days.

Obviously this guys edition is not from amazon usa as they are not shipping yet. But to be honest its a bit or miss with them amazon usa what stuff are sent in.
I know people who have had items in boxes very well packed and my stuff in a jiffy bag trashed. Yes this does not fit in a bag but from personal experience they have sent me stuff in bags.

These days its very limited who still sends here and i have a few options but its picking the right one.
Yes zavvi might pack this very well but it be a first they probably just stick this in a black bag would not surprise me.

Did Amazon USA not add Import Fee Deposit in your order at checkout
If not what's the import treshold in Australia for Tax to be paid on Imports
Amazon USA will use UPS or DHL so if tax not paid already with Amazon UPS/DHL very likely will request tax paymant when delivering

If I was to order from Amazon USA price is $125.99 + $28.90 shipping + Import fee deposit $38.69 = $193.48
In Euro's that's €168.90

Ordering UK edition direct from Amazon UK/HMV/Zavvi is cheaper £109.99
Arrow Films UK webstore early bird pre order price was £110 before it price increased to £125

My Amazon UK order free shipping as I'm a prime member for UK edition in Euro will be €129.98

You're a brave man. I wouldn't make that bet. Have you seen the size of some of the jiffy bags Amazon uses?
Amazon UK don't use jiffy mailers for Box Sets
Never had a Jiffy mailer used with any of my Amazon UK orders and I been using Amazon UK since 2006
I get 2-3 parcels a week from Amazon UK delivered to Rep of Ireland

Amazon USA will use a Box for this edition due to the size and weight involved of the box set
Weight of box set is nearly 4KG if the guy doing the unboxing video got weight estimate correct
It has 3 books inside the hardcover slipbox
They won't be using Jiffy mailer with this release
Have you ever ordered a big size book that weigh over 3KG from Amazon USA to be shipped to a international address

Amazon USA yes have used Jiffy mailer on some small box sets and slipcover and steelbook releases

I ordered from Amazon UK not Amazon USA

Yes had plenty big editions about 3 or 4 yrs ago never seen bags so big with collector sets in them and was very annoying. Even had a 36 disc set with clear protective sleeve over the edition again not mint.
Yes they are good to deal with but hate getting items with issues.
I just had godzilla set shipped too like 10 days to arrive and was in a box within box which i was hoping for as others had same when it came out.
I have another order not sent dhl express like godzilla but god knows what that will be in.
Its no longer in stock and i bet they have sent in a jiffy bag i added an extra title in hope it boxed.

The Gamera box set weighs a lot more than Criterion Godzilla Box set

Amazon will use the packaging they use for large heavy books
Most international customers will shipped in a book carboard mailer and that will be inside another box

I ordered from Amazon UK not Amazon USA

A few years ago Amazon UK shipped me the Sculpting Time Tarkovsky box set in a postal satchel. Amazon UK and not a third party seller. The box set in question. It was probably a one-off incident but it did happen.

Amazon USA regularly ship me large heavy books in jiffy bags. I've even had them stuff multiple large hardcovers into the one jiffy bag. Think Taschen kind of stuff.

I received my Criterion Godzilla set in just the book mailer by itself and not inside another box. In fact, now that I think about it, it was probably pre-packed because it had large stickers on it saying when to put on shelf for sale. It arrived in mint condition though.

There's no standard when it comes to Amazon packaging. It's luck of the draw. At any rate, I can only shop at Amazon AU and US Amazon nowadays so my selection is pretty limited. Because of this (and to save myself the trouble), I generally take my business elsewhere when possible.

Yes there is a gst same as your vat charge of 10% its like $13 or there about and i selected standard shipping at the time which was 9.99 or something.
But adding it all up it works out right now same price as what my zavvi order was. But if us dollar gets stronger and our dollar gets worse then im buggered.
But right now the usa dollars is better than gbp tp our dollar.
When we buy stuff from amazon au and are members of prime we get free delivery from amazon usa, we are still charged gst as thats why all Amazon sites stopped sending here 2 plus years ago as they can't be bothered to make changes.
Ebay same 10% added to what we buy out of Australia and few other retailers are doing same but many dont or just dont ship now.
I think if a retailer sells more than 75.000 au then they pay government gst.

But i could buy lots of stuff from retailers and have them sent to someone i know then forward to me and not get hit with gst, even group buys from various places or a bunch of items again no gst luckily then not bothered about that yet after few yrs but could change.
Its just big players etc who are required to pay government the gst mostly.
But old rule still stands if i got something or things over $1000 aud then there be fees.

But once paid be it through amazon usa or amazon au global store what paid is all thats required.
As i said this edition was pre ordered with amazon usa in feb im sure before virus was heard of or kicked off, but like most amazons they are not sending to much places now.
If i tried to order with amazon usa now i cant, even when items come in stock i cant but i can once in stock through amazon au global store.
But some items dont get offered.
The django arrow title i wanted to order this could not then it never come into stock to order through amazon au and missed out.
My fault i should have had it ordered and sent elsewhere but i had no idea it be pulled again.

Obviously buying in your currency and from uk is always going to be first choice same if we get same editions here which happens but very rarely.

But there are very few places who send here these days,i dont get from amazon Germany, uk,japan and been so a few yrs now and list goes on.
But its good zavvi are still an option just a shame there packing is crap also.

Yes as mention before arrow direct is good but i have missed some editions lately due to there shipping cost, unless its a good size order its worth it but no a single order.
I order all my arrow stuff direct but as items are so far apart on release dates sometimes if i wait to make a bigger order its gone.

Stuff from uk has also been taking longer to get here which is understandable during current times but items much quicker from usa.
In saying that some zavvi stuff have been hit or miss on how quick they came.

But as it stands amazon usa and zavvi are same price for me to here, but prior due to exchanges rates amazon usa was way more.

A few was just cardboard mailer
