I love your enthusiasm, @pdbluray! I doubt they'll ever factor in JURASSIC PARK, though. While Legendary is co-financing the new film, JURASSIC PARK still belongs to Universal and Amblin and it still continues from Michael Crichton's original idea. PACIFIC RIM, GODZILLA and KONG, though... those are all Legendary's babies. Let them fight!!! :D

Added the JP just because it would be neat little thing.

But I think all 3 film franchises PR, Godzilla and Kong could work really well with each other in a similar style to want I put obviously done better. But there is so much potential in this, that it makes my mind hurt but not as much as my wallet hurts thinking of this.

As I said in terms of size Godzilla v Biollante would be an epic film.

"UPDATE: We have now learned that Legendary was not specifically talking about the sequel itself, just that the three monsters will appear in upcoming "Godzilla" sequels, not all in Godzilla 2. "

'Godzilla 2' Release Date, Spoilers: Movie to Feature Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah, Also 'ing Kong Prequel Speculated

First introduced at the fan fest in 2012, 'Godzilla 2' has now been announced by the Legendary Entertainment team at the San Diego 2014 Comic-Con. Legendary Entertainment says that this sequel would be bigger and badder than its predecessor.

Gareth Edwards, the director of 'Godzilla 1' was not present physically at the announcement event, but he managed to rise the expectations of the fans by appearing via video from San Francisco. Since he was signed up with a big flick, many speculated that he would not return to the budding monster series. However, his video message set things right. It seems like three new monsters, "the giant pteranodon kaiju Rodan, the giant divine moth kaiju Mothra and the three-headed dragon kaiju Ghidorah," are set to make their entry in this next 'Godzilla' franchise installment.

Gareth Edwards is currently busy directing a 'Star Wars' spinoff for Lucas film and Disney, which has a release date of December 16, 2016. Sources say that he will return to 'Godzilla 2' after the completion of his current project.

Toho Co, the company that owns the rights to the character, has given permission to Legendary Entertainment to use three of its popular monsters and to produce sequels. Following this, Legendary Entertainment has rolled out its teaser that says, "there are others."

It is expected that the sequel will relay on back-story, and additionally, Legendary Entertainments has also announced another prequel to the movie 'King Kong'.

The movie dates and the cast and crew for 'Godzilla 2' have not yet been officially announced. On a positive note, it seems like fans might get to see a 'King Kong vs. Godzilla' film in the future.

The Godzilla 2014 sequel release date has been confirmed! Who would face the "King of the Monsters" in the sequel? The Godzilla 2014 sequel release date and part 3 has been confirmed, effectively making the Godzilla films into a trilogy. Who will Godzilla fight next?According to the reports, Legendary Pictures has set the Godzilla 2014 sequel release date on May 2016.

The Godzilla 2014 sequel could very well be a set up to the biggest Kaiju battle in history if the monsters Godzilla is fighting in Godzilla 2 aren't enough as Godzilla could fight King Kong once "Skull Island" is over.

A lot was revealed at the San Diego Comic Con 2014 and new details about the Godzilla 2014 sequel, creatively titled "Godzilla 2" have been revealed as well as the announcement of the King Kong prequel "Skull Island"

NME.com has reported all the new details from the Godzilla 2014 sequel aka Godzilla 2:

Godz were shown a teaser reel titled 'Classified Monarch Footage' which appeared as if put together in the '60s with a voiceover from then President John F Kennedy talking about the threats and dangers to humanity.

After informing us that there was one more secret, a message appears on screen: "There were others."

Across the shadow of pterodactyl appears the legend: "CODENAME: RODAN". Following this, an extreme close-up of a giant moth-like creature: "CODENAME MOTHRA". Finally a silhouette with flashed edit cuts around the figure of a dragon: "CODENAME: GHIDORAH".

The footage closes with the warning, "THREAT ASSESSMENT: CONFLICT INEVITABLE" before ending with, "LET THEM FIGHT".

But that doesn't stop there as Legendary pictures may have teased MechaGodzilla in their tweets.

Godzilla 2014 Sequel To Set Up MechaGodzilla Appearance? Legendary Pictures Tweet Confirms That More Kaiju Aside From King Ghidorah, Rodan And Mothra Are Coming For Godzilla 2 And 3!

mechagodzilla.jpg

The Godzilla 2014 sequel would showcase three of Godzilla's biggest Kaiju rivals but MechaGodzilla could be the final Kaiju antagonist in the series as Legendary Pictures has tweeted that more Toho Monsters would appear on future Godzilla fims after Godzilla 2!

The Godzilla 2014 sequel release date has been delayed to 2018 after it was revealed that the Godzilla 2 director Gareth Edwards would work on the Star Wars Episode 7 spin off before working on Godzilla 2.

According to THR, Godzilla 2014 sequel will not begin filming until after the Star Wars standalone film is completed. In case this information is a little discouraging for Godzilla fans, apparently, as per Legendary Entertainment’s chairman and CEO Thomas Tull, this was always going to be the case:

"Gareth's filmmaking talent makes him one of his generation's most creative and visionary directors. The plan has always been for Gareth to direct a different film before we started on another Godzilla, but who knew it would be a 'Star Wars' installment? We have a great plan in store for 'Godzilla' fans and I am looking forward to seeing Gareth's imprint on the 'Star Wars' universe."

So that means that the Godzilla 2014 sequel release date that was supposed to launch on 2016 got delayed to 2017 AND THEN it got delayed again to the final Godzilla 2014 sequel release date on 2018.

But fans can expect something good from the delay as The Godzilla 2014 sequel could very well be a set up to the biggest Kaiju battle in history if the monsters Godzilla is fighting in Godzilla 2 aren't enough as Godzilla could fight King Kong once "Skull Island" is over.

‘Godzilla’ Sequel To Be Scripted By Max Borenstein!

http://deadline.com/2014/09/godzilla-sequel-max-borenstein-836578/

EXCLUSIVE: Legendary Pictures has closed a deal for Max Borenstein to write the screenplay for the sequel to Godzilla, which Gareth Edwards will direct. It is the latest example of how Borenstein is becoming a go-to guy for Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni’s event-film factory. Borenstein wrote the first installment that relaunched the reptile and also penned Skull Island. The latter was teased at Comic-Con and just got Tom Hiddleston starring and Jordan Vogt-Roberts directing. Borenstein also scripted the upcoming Seventh Son for Legendary.

Still 4 Years away... :(
