Hello there I have Finally got enough cash to update the television from the pretty awful 26 inch hd ready telly currently in the living room. My budget is between 400 and 500 pounds and I am not too bothered for 3D or any apps like the BBC iPlayer just a good picture and 1080P are my requirements. I don't know if any of you can recommend something?

I have my eye on two televisions one of the a 50 inch http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/panasonic/viera-tx50a400b/pana-tx50a400b

and the other is a 40 inch Sony probably spending the difference on a sound bar http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/sony/bravia-kdl40r483bbu/sony-kdl40r483bbu

Personally I'd go with the Sony but that's because I'm not a huge fan of Panasonic seem to have had trouble with every item I've ever purchase from Panasonic!

If you have the interest, then go for a PJ. I bought the Optoma hd131xe for £500 and it looks great.

As I can't mess around with the walls being a private tenant, I bought a mobile pull up 85" screen for an additional £200 [emoji33]

The PQ is 85-90% similar to my Panasonic 50" GT60 Plasma. Motion handling is fluid. Blacks are better than LCD and better than Benq W1070. There is some image noise but it is only noticeable in close ups on skin tones. Plenty bright too. Colours post calibration looks better.

The above pictures are from the wall. I would say the picture looks 5% better if projected on the screen.
