This is the first zavvi steel of the year I'm interested in that's not Marvel lol. Interesting that they're putting both films on one disk and a separate disk for special features. You'd think they would put them on separate disks with the sf accompanying them :watch: Either way I'm in, bring on Saturday :cigar:

I enjoyed both Planet Terror and Death Proof, but hated B!tch Slap. If you enjoy Rodriguez other work (especially the Machete films), then I'd say you'll probably enjoy both of these. Although, Death Proof is possibly Tarantino's weakest film IMO.

Where do you get all this info lolwut ? :OMG:I don't have a clue I just buy it :wow: . Your brill  .

The Blu-ray site forums has a thread by HD Goofnut that compares all releases from all over the world

Well both my UK films I have in my German steel have Dolby TrueHD so if I like the new steelbook I'll stick them inside it. Yeah the German steelbook does have a nice distressed vintage look to it. But I'll decide which I'll keep once I have it in hand.

Ah yeah the extended films have HD audio but the theatrical (this one) has SD audio.

Not perfect IMO, but should be an improvement over the German steel, whose backwards art and bits of German text is a little annoying.

Uhhhh... 81-84 isn't quite "exactly 50/50, right down the middle". :p

What do you mean by backwards art on the German steel?

Grindhouse is a double-bill that plays as a single film. Putting them on separate discs would defeat the point.

I have two words for you 'Kill Bill'.... that is a double bill that plays as a single film and they put them on separate disks in the steelbook, no?? So your point is mute my friend :cigar: I'm sorry but putting them on separate disks makes a whole lot of sense! :wacky:

Kill Bill was released in cinemas as 2 separate films. Grindhouse on its initial run was one viewing. Later Deathproof got an extended Cinema release while Planet Terror went straight to dvd. Would only make sense if this was the extended versions of each film, but it isn't it's the original version with wacky trailers that should all be watched in one viewing.
