@Flash (Thinking out loud here) Why don't you move along your original and purchase a copy of this re-release if this is your much preferred Steel? Just a thought...

It is preferred in my opinion but I paid enough for the original and it's not worth half of that so to then have to pay another £25 for me is just too much. I just don't double dip no matter what with steels for me they are too much often even for one copy no matter multiples although I know many people who like to own different versions can't afford to :(

I slid it off for 2 reasons. 1- it won't scratch the steelbook, regardless of what you've heard. And 2- I couldn't care less. It's cheap. I bought it for uniformity and don't plan on scalping it on eBay.

I am letting other collectors here know the proper technique for handling Lenti Magnets, I have never damaged any of the various ones I own, do as you wish. However since this is a forum for collectors and others have mentioned problems in the past I felt the need to say something. You may not care but other collectors will watch you sliding off Lenti Magnets and may not be happy if it does cause damage, collectors here will look at their steelbooks at angles and different light, that alone tells us there are collectors looking for mint steelbooks to stay mint.

I wish they were cheap but their over priced and the Lenti is comical, the finish seems very average, if you go through the various threads you will see collectors are not happy with the price and timing of the releases. You said you sold your steelbooks as you wanted out of collecting but your saying you need the movies again, lets say you go for the standard 3d release of this movie you could get it for £11.99 at the moment or possibly in those 2 for £25 type deals for 3d movies in the standard keep cases.

Maybe being a collector previously made you want them in steel again, whatever the reason I hope you feel you get your moneys worth. Do as you like, good for you if you want a Marvel collection again, if any collector feels like there is a hole in their collection and this fills it for them, then good for them too, I'm not one to laugh and show off with my collection. I'd be in pain though replacing my collection with these releases, a majority were imported and can not be replaced in my eyes.

I'm puzzled, you sold all your steels and dislike this release, why did you buy it?
(I know you didn't have film but you can get it super cheap ordinary release) saying you would be in pain, is bit of an sad/odd thing to say.

I think you misread it, I rarely sell my steelbooks, I'm replying to another HDN member here that said their out of collecting but are going to get all these Zavvi Marvel releases, even though they say this one is poor.

Sorry I see but to say you be in pain is a bit of an exaggeration?

Some people like these releases as I said if i didn't own the originals I would get them they are fun and I really like the lenticulars.

I feel awful for those that paid full price for this after reading these comments, can't everyone be just a little kinder?

I'm sure each of us have bought a dud in our time and also regretted it.

Well you can say what you want to me because I'm the mug who decided to buy this piece of cr*p and the unlucky b*arstard to get a image that's blurry and the main character having two sets of eyes.

I really don't care what anyone says about me complaining about the Steelbook because i actually have it hand and it really was a waste of money that's getting sent back. I even thought I had another fault with colour and quill being rally pink until I see others photos.

I actually like the winter soldier version and would like iron man 3 and Thor aswel as the others to look nice too but so far from what's released in my opinion half of them look okay and the other half not so. Lentis on all are fails except winter soldier actually lining up

And this is Lazy fail

Also IMO the cassette version is much better in hand even if it's not the best to some, it has a nice spot gloss front and back and great debossing with quality inside art (only good thing about this release is the inside art).

This steel is nicer than any amaray and cheaper than any other steelbook version. It looks really nice on the shelf (without lenti) despite having a less than premium finish. We may have expected more but it isn't bad at all, just a bit pricey for what it is and a total rip off if you get a four eyed one.

You say you are not going to show off your collection and laugh but then state you have irreplaceable imports and mock the way that someone removes their magnet.

Excuse me but I think everyone watching is capable of deciding for themselves how they would like to remove their magnets lol

@barrycameron went to the effort of making a video which is more helpful than anything else in this thread so far.

When you have a proper printed copy and take the lenticular magnet off it actually looks good, a massive improvement over the tape.

I hide my lenticular by putting it inside the case. Its there if i need it that way :)

That's fair enough, I did originally put all the lenti from steels I own inside the steels too a while ago to keep them from getting ruined if they did but decided to put them back on the front

From the pics I've seen though his skin colour still looks well off

the lenticular artwork is a little different, just look at the artwork on the Steelbook and then look at the artwork for the lenticular

I'm not too sure what your taking about?
What have you noticed?
Only thing I can see is the lenti is a massively shrunken version of the steel cover

Agreed, they definatley used too much purple over his face either that or he has eaten too many red grapes and blueberrys.

Thing is I never compare standard blu Rays (cases) to steelbooks. Different league.
I don't even buy them anymore.
Just have the ones I own from before collecting steels and getting rid of the ones I have when I get it on steel. Only bought the odd release that don't get a steel.
This year was only 3 (inherent vice, this is the end & it follows - but I'll keep that with the changeable cover)

Yeah, i stopped buying amaray too. Only mentioned it because the comparison was made as to why one would buy this version having quit collecting steelbooks.

I am looking to replace my amarays with steels, slowly but surely :hungry:
