I do actually like the idea and think it's quite creative, but I was just expecting so much more for a film like this... it needs to be loud and colourful like the film itself IMO.

This is the first steelbook artwork thats actually making me want to cancel. For someone who never got to see the film that artwork means nothing to me, if that was in a shop i wouldnt have a clue what film it was for and probably would just look past it. If they are insisting on artwork like this, it needs some sort of indication that it is Guardians of the Galaxy, you could get away with no title on the spine or front on the other marvel steelbooks because it would have the faces on the spine or recognisable scenes or characters on the front.

They will probably have the title on the j-card but it does seem that once again marvel / disney are going for the cheaper mass produced steelbook approach for europeans.

Guys, if we all pretend the title of the film is "Studio", it's actually not that bad :D.

I was secretly wishing for the following artwork and boy, are we far from that :

Look, I'm all for artistic attempts, for something different, but let's not be artsy just for the sake of being artsy. The art chosen has to mean something, and here it really doesn't scream "Guardians of the Galaxy" to me (it would be great for a steelbook of the soundtrack though).

I haven't seen the movie yet, but curious to know what does this cover have to do with the
concept of the movie?

It's the walkman that Star-Lord (Peter Quill) carries around (won't divulge more to avoid spoiler territory) and plays some awesome tunes.

I know this is not Zavvis fault but I believe a mass cancellation will make them realise that this is not what we want, I've now cancelled mine for this terrible terrible artwork.
Never has an artwork reveal made me so furious. this was such an epic film it deserves much much better. If anything what they are showing should be the back art or someting. I was hoping for characters and loads of colour. Shame. Epic fail
