Dear HDN Community,
A quick reminder from the Staff and Mods at HDN-As our forum grows daily as a popular destination for all things movies, Steelbooks, entertainment and collectibles, new users are constantly joining-an exciting thing! It has come to our attention, however, that some may try to trade via PM's and or spam the forum to get to 30 posts to enter group buys, with different user names, etc.
You may be approached by members with no feedback and or/barely any posts via PM, who may try to circumvent trading rules and or, attempt to buy or sell you items. We strongly urge you to AVOID these transactions with people you don't know, or who can't provide adequate references, that are good enough for you, for your own protection.
While a number of measures are in place to help you prevent this, including the active availability of Mods, and education throughout the site, and other methods, it is our members who can also help make a huge difference as part of the HDN community, if they alert us.
You can:
1) Report posts (use little caution sign next to post), that seem suspicious
2) Report 'shady' trading attempts via PM, or contacts from banned members
3) Let us know if you're having trouble with any member regarding a trade, or otherwise. As fellow passionate collectors, we want you to feel at home at HDN, during the time you spend here, and would rather try to help at the beginning of a trade, should the rare uncomfortable situation arise. We realize it may be uncomfortable to report some of these things, but please know that you are likely helping someone else avoid the same, and aiding the community at large with your report.
While most trades occur without a hitch and both traders end up very happy with their items, there are unfortunately instances that we have helped resolve over the years, or those that go unreported, which cause huge losses of $$$ and aggravation for some members. In letting us know about a bad experience, and using iTrader feedback system, you may help prevent the same thing from happening to a fellow member.
Our Trading Forum has a number of stickied threads to help you learn how to safely trade and spot trouble, and if ever in doubt, please contact a Moderator and we will be happy to assist you with questions or direct you to the proper person.
Our mission at HDN includes helping our members get hip to some of these tactics, and take advantage of the Trading Forum and Active Trades area, which are public, and moderated for your benefit, and to avoid 'private' possible debacles that can start with PM's from virtual strangers, and or seasoned traders.
Happy and safe trading, HDN!
