So recently I got the Friday the 13th complete set to trade with someone. We each received everything fine.

But after he opened it, he realized it had two copies of disc 4 but no disc 5!

Since I bought it originally, I'm assuming I have to contact WB? Does anyone know who I should get in touch with or how to handle getting the proper disc?

Contact the retailer you bought it from, they should replace the disc and everything should go fine, but you are right, you will have to contact them and they might ask for confirmation of your order, i.e. receipt, order number etc...

Well I bought it at a Best Buy, so would I get in touch with them or the publishing company?

I would go with BB initially...See what they say...In the meantime, contact the Distributor and highlight the fact about the disc and ask for a replacement...These types of wrong disc in sets is not uncommon.

Called Best Buy, they're telling me to just exchange/return it. Which I can't. I shipped it off for a trade to Australia. Because it wasn't for me, I didn't open it to check if it had all the right discs, why would I? I'm assuming the product I'm buying is what it's being sold to me as.

It would cost about $40-50 just to ship it round trip from him to me and back.

What should I do next?

the person who received it in a trade is stuck with it. The only thing you can do at this point is email WB with a picture of your receipt and tell them you received a duplicate disc, than request the correct disc. There's a chance they could send you the replacement.

The set isn't currently available at Amazon due to a problem with their stock. So this problem is possibly wide spread and the more people who have the problem, the better the chance WB will actually correct the problem.

Get him to find the movie on amaray and you send him a payment to cover the cost.

There was no way for you to know, man. it's like selling a sealed steel and once opened, there's a scratch or something.

I am sure WB could sort it out, you can always send him the receipt, so he has proof of purchase, if they request it. Or maybe even scan a copy, so he can mail WB.

The not so politically correct way, is to order another set and get the dude to send you the extra disc back, then go to best buy with the set you will eventually have with two identical discs. But then you will have to send him the correct disc too.

I am gunna see if the discs are the same design on the individual release!

Feel for you dude.

Problem with doing the ol' switcharoo on Best Buy is that they will make you exchange for the same item or at best will only allow a in store credit.

I am gunna see if the discs are the same design on the individual release.

I am pretty sure Part 5 has not been released individually on Blu Ray as of yet. Not in the US anyway.

I would definitely contact WB who should have no problem making things good.

Update time! I looked back through my emails a few days and saw that I had received a response from WB that had slipped by somehow. About a week and a half's worth of back and forth, and she asks for the person I traded with's contact info and said she could just ship it straight to him! Fast forward about a week to today, and I just heard from him that he received the replacement disc! Awesome awesome awesome! I asked her if there was any survey or comment card I could do for her, but she said unfortunately not.

Thank you WB for being awesome!
