Gameplay: High Velocity Bowling varies from other bowling games by introducing a challenge mode. The player has to go through every level to unlock all of the 10 playable characters and all of the 10 lanes. Each level has 3 challenges to complete. These challenges can be tournaments, matches or trick shots, where the objective is to get a strike while following a certain road. The game also has a trophy room, in which the player can see his trophies, rings and patches he gained through the game. While the player can use the Sixaxis for the bowling swing, there are other control schemes in the game. Finally, High Velocity Bowling has a multiplayer mode, where up to 4 people can play online and offline.

New DLC this month for High Velocity Bowling

High Velocity Bowling didn?t just get a patch this month; it?s getting some new DLC, too.

First off are a couple of new bowlers, Don Carlos ?El Gordo? Caliente and Milan ?Princess? Travellage. Don Carlos is a luchador with high power, but poor spin ability. The smaller Milan is the opposite, with great spin but low power. Each comes with a new lane.

There are also two downloadable ball packs. The Tiki Polynesian Ball Pack has island-themed balls, including a ball with a broken coconut and a ball with a hula dancer. The 60?s Surf Ball Pack features items from the 60?s, such as 3D movie glasses.

The new characters and ball packs are $0.99; Don Carlos and Milan are already available, and the ball packs are coming soon.

High Velocity Bowling for PS3 Ships Today on Blu-ray with PlayStation Move Support

Do you have some hankering for some over-the-top bowling action? Well it’s time to dust off the old bowling shoes and meet the High Velocity Bowlers! Over the last few years, lots of High Velocity Bowling add-on DLC has been released and we’ve collected all the content in one convenient Blu-ray Disc package, including over 20 unique characters and themed alleys, trick shot packs, and other fun content.

<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="437" height="265" id="viddler"><param name="movie" value="http://www.viddler.com/simple_on_site/8e3db73" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="flashvars" value="fake=1"/><embed src="http://www.viddler.com/simple_on_site/8e3db73" width="437" height="265" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" flashvars="fake=1" name="viddler" ></embed></object>

In addition, the game also supports stereoscopic 3D and PlayStation Move functionality included on the disc to really simulate a genuine bowling swing. The game’s a blast to play and lets up to four friends play offline, or go head-to-head online to see who the better bowler is.

If you already own the original High Velocity Bowling game on PSN, you can get the PlayStation Move add-on functionality for free if you are a PlayStation Plus member. If you aren’t a member of PlayStation Plus, don’t worry: the PlayStation Move add-on is planned to be released in the near future.
