One of my favorite movies finally gets a really nice steelbook release exclusive to BB in the US. This one includes the movie title unlike the international release:

Back of J card. Something, as usual, is made in Mexico. Thanks NAFTA (or whatever it's called now):

The big mystery is whether there anything under the the front part of the J card or are we going to get the same stupid blank space at top as we did with the Total Recall SB (you can probably guess the answer since they're both Lionsgate). Not matte, but rather, that silky sheen that Lionsgate has put on earlier releases like Ghost in the Shell (1995):

Not really a fan of the title font and I guess putting an Ultra HD logo on the spine would have been too much effort:

Let's take a look at the back. WTF?!? What kind of lazy ass cheap printing is Lionsgate using - there's a white line running down the bottom half of the image. No bueno:

Let's take a look at the inside. Not sure why there's no background but they got Newman and Redford so it's already way ahead of the international SB release:

Overall, pretty blah. There's not much artwork for this movie out there so they were pretty limited in what they could use, but the new title font is ugly and unnecessary (nothing wrong with the classic font) and the print quality is in places, crap. Don't waste your time unless you love this movie and even then, wait for the inevitable massive markdown this SB will receive in the coming months.

Finally managed to get "The Shining" (BB) and I actually do like it more than the CM one. This is the "Drive" I was REALLY looking for, the "Oldboy" I swore to ignore and not buy and #6 in the SciFi destination series, actually the only one I wanted to buy initially...

I guess I must have changed my mind about that at one point....
