Plain Archive is excited to announce the release of I Saw The Devil Steelbook. We've been asked by Blue Kino, another Korean Blu-ray company to design the Steelbook edition which will be PLAIN ARCHIVE's exclusive.
We were hoping to release the world's first Steelbook edition of I Saw The Devil, but Zavvi announced its own before we could. The news made us reconsider the project, but with director Kim Jee-woon's support, we couldn't drop it.
I Saw The Devil Steelbook will be released under the approval of director Kim, and we are working on the artwork as we speak.
Best Regards
PLAIN ARCHIVE

Will there be two editions?
The Wrestler had the full and 1/4 slip??

Not sure, looks lile just full slip atm but i would expect a 1/4 slip as well...

Also a GB is where you post your country in the GB thread and the GB host will order the film for you along with many others. It works out great if pre-order times are inconvenient or they don't ship to your country. It usually works out a little more expensive though as there is shipping from PA to them, and then them to you... ;)

WTF. just when one starts to think they cannot make anything better with movie packaging, they come up with something like this.
looks overwhelming from the pics alone. where are the guys that doubted this would be better than the zavvi version.

I never said this is inferior. I only said the packaging has to be super special to warrant a purchase and it does indeed looks gorgeous. I do have plenty of Asian Steels in my 1000+ collection. What I hate is the continuous unprovoked attack on UK steels and the lack of appreciation no matter how good it looks and showing a strong bias towards Asian retailers no matter what they do. Credit where it is due and I will show it by buying this.

You're pretty much tied to that whole UK thing huh? I see you post it alot of times.

Which members irritate you then? I find english releases pretty good, especially the former Play.com/HMV.com releases and almost every Zavvi Disney release.

Just consider, that asian steels, because they are further away, feel more exotic to collectors. Maybe thats why you feel there ain't that much love for the UK steels, cause it feels closer to home for many due to the english language.

i did not want to start a fight over this again. i also like the zavvi steel of "i saw the devil" (besides many other uk releases, i'm still amazed by the recent disney steels for example), even though i think it's far away from the quality we can expect from PA. i don't like to think so much in national categories, if a steelbook + overall packaging + gimmicks and extras look nice, the origin is not so important.
