Plain Archive is excited to announce the release of I Saw The Devil Steelbook. We've been asked by Blue Kino, another Korean Blu-ray company to design the Steelbook edition which will be PLAIN ARCHIVE's exclusive.
We were hoping to release the world's first Steelbook edition of I Saw The Devil, but Zavvi announced its own before we could. The news made us reconsider the project, but with director Kim Jee-woon's support, we couldn't drop it.
I Saw The Devil Steelbook will be released under the approval of director Kim, and we are working on the artwork as we speak.
Best Regards
PLAIN ARCHIVE

Hi,

This happened to me also - as soon as it appeared I ordered very smoothly and got 3371. All orders seem to begin with 3 so we can presume that does not count towards anything: maybe the second number 3 signifies triple pack???? Therefore we could be in with a chance??? No idea, but seeing as I could not have ordered any quicker than this it would be unfair to not be in with a chance.
I think that the order number is simply increased by one for each order placed and none of the digits have any correlation with the products ordered.

Got the quad pack order in with order #3176 and another, single-item order a couple of minutes later with order #3354.

i noticed people posting "ordered!" while my screen still didn't show the link live... F5 like crazy... finally live... order 3429... tri-pack... crossing fingers here :ohno:

Anybody else surprised the Full Slip version is still in stock? It had less copies printed 500 Vs 800 for the PET Slip and still sitting there.

I actually prefer the look of the Full Slip so I went to order it first. Now I wish I had ordered a second PET slip since that seems to be more sought after.

Hi. Thanks for that. I wonder if they will take the 100 first quad pack orders and the first 100 triple pack orders etc???? Certainly what you are saying makes sense to me. Ultimately, as I've said before - give it a few years and these 'glorified dvds' (blu-rays) will be supplanted by a new format and their value will nosedive as rapidly as the collectible dvds previously have and so all this will be academic. I always feel guilty too for bothering about this stuff when there are so many other important issues going on - but, alas, such is the nature of collecting.

Have a good day!

Yeah, it didn't give me the option to add to cart until 6:03, but other than that the order process was smooth.

Not really fair for those that wanted top 100 and/or the directors signature. I know steelbook collecting can get rough, though I wasn't going to purchase the three single copies and the two multipacks hoping that one went live on time. I currently don't have a task force enlisted to make pre-orders :p If they had all gone on sale at the same time, we would have had lower #'s. I will e-mail Plain Archives to see what's up! They always have superb customer service ;)

Never understood this way of thinking. If I'm spending lots of money on limited collectibles i certainly would hope/think that these would maintain or go up in value. If your already awaiting the death of the blu-ray you may want to quit while your ahead.

I agree, and I'd be upset if I were one of the many who were clamoring to be one of the first 200. As it stands, I'm just pleased that I was able to obtain the tri-pack. :)

Blu Ray will be around for a long time! Hey they just recently announced that 4K Blu Ray players are coming next year. So the death of Blu Ray and these collectables is a long, long way off...IMO
Hell I'll probaly be dead by then so who cares...:rofl::LOL:

Anyway back to this absolutely stunning release from Plain....:notworthy:

This is not my way of thinking really but is just reality. To me they remain as collectible as they were initially but realistically they will drop in value which i think is unfortunate. Certainly, I hope too that they will increase but look at limited edition vhs sets, then dvd sets so logically when the new 4k/8k discs overtake these will go down. I never said I was awaiting the death of blu-ray but technology moves on.

Lol. And when they re-issue all these steelbooks with 4k discs inside....these will drop in value. :ohno: Just like one steelbook from one retailer which happens to have a free sticker inside or book as the only difference suddenly devalues the previous version - it's a bummer but when something better comes along the old gets left behind.
