Plain Archive is excited to announce the release of I Saw The Devil Steelbook. We've been asked by Blue Kino, another Korean Blu-ray company to design the Steelbook edition which will be PLAIN ARCHIVE's exclusive.
We were hoping to release the world's first Steelbook edition of I Saw The Devil, but Zavvi announced its own before we could. The news made us reconsider the project, but with director Kim Jee-woon's support, we couldn't drop it.
I Saw The Devil Steelbook will be released under the approval of director Kim, and we are working on the artwork as we speak.
Best Regards
PLAIN ARCHIVE

I love Plain Archive and the way they conduct their business. I think their releases are superb, and pre-orders usually "just work." For me personally I was going to go for the single PET exclusive. When I heard they would be including a signature card for the first 200 that purchased either bundle- I thought "How cool would it be to have a signed card from the director of what seems to be a amazing film." Be one of the first and get a possible low # and a signed card, how cool is that?! I know the nature of collecting can be hectic and unfair. Though as customers we have the right to point out when something is unfair. Having the triple pack go live two to three minutes after the other ones does not really give us a fighting chance, regardless if it was unintentional or not. Either way, I'm happy most of us were able to get a copy on the first try ;)

First steelbook I buy since Kimchi's The Pianist, and I am glad I did. One of my top 3 Korean films, featuring my two favorite Korean actors. I already owned the excellent 2-Disc Korean digi, with both cuts of the film, but this is definitely a huge step up from that.

As for the pre-orders; I wasn't aware the triple pack is a big deal. I bought that one because this is one of those "I want them all, and I can't choose." kind of things. Now that I am reading all of this, it looks like I made the right call. Now, the wait for Oldboy truly begins.

Hi. Thanks for that. I wonder if they will take the 100 first quad pack orders and the first 100 triple pack orders etc???? Certainly what you are saying makes sense to me. Ultimately, as I've said before - give it a few years and these 'glorified dvds' (blu-rays) will be supplanted by a new format and their value will nosedive as rapidly as the collectible dvds previously have and so all this will be academic. I always feel guilty too for bothering about this stuff when there are so many other important issues going on - but, alas, such is the nature of collecting.

Have a good day!

Making your first million from steelbook futures is always your most enjoyable and satisfying... :p

To me the Full Slip is my favorite version of the film. Don't care for the PET slip.. just got it since it came with the package bundle.

I'm shocked the Full Slip is still in stock. Same goes for The Master.

Master Steelbook full slip coming out later maybe cannibalising keep case orders.

Yep, thought the paper one is going to go first and actually preventing bundle offers. Rather than the PET. At 2 per household for the first 24 hours, that's a lot of people going for PET.
