First 3D Game: Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao
3D Gaming has been a hot topic recently, ever since 3D gaming made a big splash earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show. Up until now, there haven’t been any 3D games available for the PSN…
This week, the PSN will get it’s first 3D game, the side-scrolling beat-em-up, Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao. You will need a pair of classic “red & blue” 3D glasses to see the anaglyphic 3D effects. Or, you’ll need a DLP HDTV capable of stereoscopic 3D.
You play as Han Tao and you're looking to reclaim you Star of Destiny. It's a 2D brawler where main objective is to battle waves of enemies before moving onto the next stage. It takes after those 70's Kung-Fu flicks, so it's purposely very campy in that way.
There's even a film grain overlay (which is hard to see) which gives it a bit more authenticity. It's suppose to be over-the-top in not only their moves, but their actions and animations.
Players will take on the role of Han Tao, “General of a Thousand Victories,” who must protect an artifact called the Star of Destiny with his life. As luck would have it for poor old Mr. Tao, someone has stolen the Star of Destiny, and now he must fight his way through a bunch of bad guys in order to recover the Star.
Han Tao has both local and online multiplayer as well as allows you to play in 3D with those red and blue glasses.
