To be honest and completely objective, a GB is a huge pain in the ass to all who are supervising it. Kimchi is not receiving any more money out of that venture, so there may be a lack of incentive. That said, from an ethical standpoint it ensures to some degree that the allotted amount does not get to the hands of scalpers... or at least not as easily. I for one hope that if not Choi, then someone with the possibility to host a GB does so. Many people state "fairness" as a reason not to hold one. If Kimchi upgraded their servers it would be an entirely different situation. As a consumer, and collector I hope a more effective way is implemented, before the release of this amazing exclusive

+1 Couldn't of said it better.

Kimchi needs to consider doing what Plain Archive has done and set up a Facebook store for their exclusive line of steels. That way we wouldn't have to worry about slow servers when anticipated steels get released. I think that if Kimchi setup a Facebook store for their products we would all breathe a little easier knowing that Facebook servers can definitely handle any and all traffic. I have posted the Plain Archive announcement below so you guys can see what I am talking about.

"Dear International customers We’re happy to be introducing to you our new store feature today. With our Facebook Store, you can easily buy our products directly on our Facebook page here. This is great for avoiding traffic problems when our e-store is getting heavy traffic for high demand pre-orders. But we don't have high demand for releases yet.

We hope you like this feature. We'll always do our best to improve your shopping experience. Best Regards PLAIN ARCHIVE"

Thats really cool I did not know they added that.... A brilliant Idea and a easy way to make sure servers wont crash!!!!!!!

not so sure taht is the answer ... its a shop app that markets the listing, but then it still goes back to the site ... so if the site is getting pegged and hit hard its gonna be exact same.

So it wont help you obtaining a copy, but you could know if the item has been listed yet by "viewing" on facebook.

Wreck is absolutely correct. I tested PA's Facebook store and it does take you directly to their site. Kimchi just needs to figure out what the downtime and new servers will cost them and see if they deem it a worthy investment.

And honestly even if PA did sell directly through Facebook rather than use it as an additional product listing page, I'm not sure that'd be a good solution or even a good comparison to Kimchi's issues.

PA has a well designed site with less steps to complete checkout. If you log in ahead of time it's really as simple as refreshing the product page until it's up, adding to cart, hitting the checkout button once the cart's loaded, and then you're on PayPal's servers until the final confirmation page.

Compare that to Kimchi with popup notifications to even get it into the cart and multiple pages for checkout. A simplified checkout process alone would do them a world of good when it comes to handling traffic.

Aside from the website design, forcing someone to join a privacy invasive social network like Facebook to have even a chance at purchasing your product instead of fixing the actual issue wouldn't exactly be a good thing. Sure, collectors already on facebook that only care about getting the steel would appreciate less competition but there are those that adamantly object to that site. Being forced to hand over their full names, phone numbers, billing address, shipping address, and payment info to facebook considering what they do with that info would be a pretty terrible way to run an international store.

My 2 (or maybe 4) cents. :dunno:

Ahh I didn't realize that. I thought it was the same concept as Amazon's marketplace. Someone should tell PA that! Lol.

I hate to say this but I don't even know if it's even worth trying to pre order this when it goes live. Kimchi's servers will go into complete melt down that's for sure. :(
When The Pianist went live this morning at first the site crashed on me then I could not add to cart, plus for the first few minutes slowing down to a snails pace. And that was for a boutique film that's still available now...... Not a marvel blockbuster like IM with all the (Scalpers) that will attract.......:(
If the only way to order this is via Kimchi then I have very little HOPE of getting just 1 copy for my collection.....

I also foresee the same dilemma when RUSH goes up for pre order......:ohno:

It's a great year I think for these exclusives from Kimchi, but trying to get your hands on one is going to be like trying to hold on to water. :hilarious:

One word.........SERVER!!!!! :naughty:
