Just because of I have an idea of what a high demand release is, I´d like to know if its an issue or not for Kimchidvd, but as you stated I also guess its a non-issue for Kimchidvd because the items will be sold anyway.

it very well may be an issue for tony. i don't see an advantage to wasting thousands of dollars to sell out a release an hour or whatever, earlier. no matter what he does people that didn't get one will complain.

I will try my hardest to get this when it goes live. But if I'm unsuccessful and then see fleebay flooded with copies I'll be one VERY pissed Ninja!
And will seriously consider not even trying for Rush or Drive.....

As much as I want this I will never let myself get scalped in order to acquire a copy. Hopefully all the real collectors here can at least get 1 copy for their collection....
Same here.
Even if I REALLY badly want a steel, I'd rather wait for a re-release than pay scalper prices and fuel that fire.

While I am happy with Kimchi and their products overall, I REALLY wish all companies not just them, would stop with the gimmick of TWO different slips! It forces REAL collectors and completists such as myself to buy BOTH copies and thus makes it harder for everyone else to obtain a copy since they are so limited. Yes I know this comment should be in the retailer thread BUT we are discussing slips right now so I thought I would bring it up...I know this is just my opinion but am I alone in thinking this?? :dunno:
I consider myself a REAL collector and dont feel the need to buy multiple versions of steels. The movie is what counts for me, then the packaging.

Plus I love that Kimichi offer variations for me to pick and choose which one I would like (usually the lenti as the artwork image used always seems nicer than what's on the steel itself MU aside that is)

What you have to remember, is no one is forcing you to buy both kimichi versions or any other variations. That choice is yours and yours alone.
Each collector to their own though I say.

Yes I agree. I think we need to keep it:

Full Lenticular
1/4 Slip

Having anything more is just getting outta control IMO.
mostly agree, though I am getting rather fond of the recent clear slips....though I feel obliged to double dip because the clear slip needs a home on a steel of its own (for both Thor 2 and Frozen recent releases I've got the lenti kimichi and zavvi versions for the clear slip)

I never have or will buy a Steelbook to keep sealed
I always buy a Steelbook for the Film itself and extras and of course the Artwork

I watch the Film and Extras always
I keep my Steelbooks protected though using polybags

Film and extras content is always the most important thing to me and if a amaray Blu-ray release or box set has better extras or picture quality I will buy that instead but I will always go for a steelbook version over an amaray if content is the same

I double dip sometimes if I like the Steelbook artwork but again I always open to enjoy all of the steelbook

Lot of steelbooks has great inside Artwork but keeping it sealed and never opening means it don't have any inside artwork or even any good back artwork as it will be covered by a jcard

Each collector collects for their own reasons of course and how they spend their money is their right and that includes keeping there steelbooks sealed if they want to but for me I don't get why someone does this unless its to trade or sell

But if you have 100 or 200 or 700 steelbooks all sealed never opened or unwrapped and not to trade or sell ????? I don't get it
I used to be exactly like this, but the kimichi lenti's look so nice all tightly sealed that it seems a shame to open them. Plus with what I said about about the clear slips needing a home, I tend to open and watch that version whilst keeping my lenti's sealed and on display.
Dont get me wrong I dont have 100's sealed, 2 lenti's and 2 other steels that I've not got round to watching yet (so 2 I intend on keeping sealed as long as possible out of a collection of over 200), but I can see why people do it. I wouldnt but a steel and keep it sealed unless I had another copy I could watch - movie comes first, then packaging. Prime example being this Iron Man steel - If I manage to get a copy, I may choose to keep it sealed as I already have an open Play.com steel to watch :)

+1 I think the great thing about collecting these is you can define what's important to you. I definitely would be happy just to get ONE of the versions that kimchi will be producing. And will open it for display and use :D

You missed the other word in that sentence...completist. Unfortunately people like me have to have EVERY release of a particular movie or you feel like your insides will explode and you will die... The companies know this and people like me are paying out the a$$ for it. :(

But completest in what terms? Again, this is something you can define/restrict yourself :)
I consider having all the marvel movies on steel enough, yet some, such as yourself, would want all variations or certain international versions etc.
I admit I have a few duplicates of steels so I get it, I really do, as I'm sure all of us collectors would love to have all versions of steelbooks in hand, but its not possible for an number of reasons.

Can I offer some friendly advice? Learn to enjoy and love the steels you have, not the ones your double, triple, quadruple etc dipping for :) Then no one can entice you you spend more money on the steelbook variations.

Lol I wish it was that simple my friend. I have at least 8 different versions of Kill Bill alone! Certain movies are an addiction... You just want them all! I plan on doing the same thing with Wolf Of Wall Street.

But back on topic...why hasn't anyone ever thought of putting a full Lenti slip over a 1/4 slip?? :dunno: Sort of like the Blufans Face Off, it would have a full slip but still be sealed with the 1/4 slip underneath... you"ll get both and only have to buy one copy, everybody wins! :D

Well, I thought it was a good idea...

I think it would a game changer! And what better release to start something new/fresh/awesome with than Iron Man?!?

I say we make a poll to see if anyone else wants just ONE release...a FULL slip (Lenti or not) and a 1/4 slip underneath (steel would be sealed with 1/4 slip) and full slip would be removable.

Kimchi are giving away free slips with the Pianist as an option so this would be the same thing essentially....I mean, it's not like this isn't going to sell.

ONE slip to rule them all! :scat:

Very much in agreement.

For me this is an important one, and if I can't get it when it goes live smoothly, angry won't cover it.

What about the regular slip lovers? I'd rather have a full (not lenticular) slip than either of the ones you mention. (Honestly. I'm not just trying to start an argument, just saying that you left some collectors out.)
