It makes no sense to collect the entire Kimchidvd series if you miss out on some, although you are in time to order and then have to pay more than 100 USD for a single steelbook to complete the collection.
this is the point i was trying to make before , people my think its childish but these are the people that got the iron man today to add to there collection

Sweeping statement there Buddy. To clarify, I have collected almost £2000 worth of steels the last 18 months and I open them all. I'm was very angry today and am also considering cancelling orders.

Does that really make people less of a collector? I think it's about principle. Today was a farce for a lot of people. A lot of respected HDN members also feel like this.

You get given a time, stick to the plan, make arrangements at work, or get up early. All you want in return is the site to keep to its side of the bargain. You then get the carpet pulled underneath you.

To cancel orders means taking a stand, even if in the end it's you that loses out. I respect that in a person.

More for "us collectors?" eBay will suggest more for investors.

A bit of a coincidence eBay sellers selling this on pre order have still been able to do so. Maybe they ALL had a crystal ball. ;) or maybe they knew how much they were getting in the first place. I found out today that ordering from Kimchi is as much lucky, as it is political. No thanks.

No bitterness here. Just a lesson learned.

Exclusivity is part of the price you pay with kimchi. If they weren't rare, limited and hard to get, people wouldn't collect them probably. So if it's important to you, buy the ones you missed via third party and get the ones you can on release day. You can't just whine when you don't get your way every time. There's less than 4k of these made- of course we all want one! The effort is part of the fun in collecting.

There was obviously going to be a lot of people that were not going to be able to get this. It's not like the site went down for 3 hours, if you were there at the specified time, you had just as good a chance as anyone to get the Steelbook. I've missed a release or two from Kimchi, I just wait til I can trade or buy it at a later date.

Understood. We all win and lose at times, I've missed out on my fair share, and I understand the desire to take a stand. In the end though, I just keep trying and keep fighting because I enjoy the little victories I do get. Sorry you missed out today, I hope the tables turn for you next time around!

It's not that, but the system of kimchi which is unfair.

If I have an item in my cart, It should give me the opportunity to pay for it within at least 15 minutes.

At 15:00:05 I had one lenti in my cart, went to checkout, it stayed reloading the page for 3 minutes and after that my cart was empty because their website failed and their checkout policy too.

This is the 6th time I fell short of a kimchi release this way and it just isn't fair.

An item in my cart should give me the right and time based ownership of the right to but that specific item within a set of time.

This is just 100 lions trying to eat a small rabbit.

people are entitled to there opinion mate , the whole point in collecting things is to get the whole set . collectors shouldnt have to pay none collectors stupid prices, im presuming the way ur jumping at me and @PKAVFC u did get urs today or maybe more than one? because i think u wouldnt be happy if u missed out today

Just because it's added to your cart doesn't guarantee you the item....everyone who was lucky enough to grab a copy managed to get on and seal the deal. Your argument is invalid my friend. Sorry if this seems harsh.

It is fair though, everyone has the same chance once they have it in their cart. My cart was emptied out once, because I had the 1/4 slip and it sold out, but I just went back in and ordered the lenti.

The way they do the checkout is the same way a lot of places do it for exclusives. Mondo is the same way.

And if they did it the way you say, it would just be people getting mad saying "I couldn't add it to my cart, and it's not fair that people had 15 minutes to order, when I could have ordered in 30 seconds"

I did get one today. But I also missed out on Memento and Her in the same way you did today. Both of them ones I really really wanted. But here I am again today, because I like the releases kimchi offers and I want to keep collecting them. Of course I was mad I had to buy the other two at a higher price- but I don't blame kimchi and I don't stop buying them!

In your opinion perhaps, I collect Steelbooks I'm interested in & will open/watch, not because it's sold by a specific company and certainly don't feel the need to have all of the Steelbooks KimchiDVD release.

People collect for a variety of reasons, not everyone feels they need to have a complete set to be happy.

Its not harsh, speedy Jay, not at all.

But I feel that it's part of customer service to reserve that item for me once I put it in my cart.

Amazon also works that way when the have their December sales periode, they give you a 15 minute window to checkout, if you don't, you lost your reservation.

This system is much more fair than the frenzy at kimchi.

If I put a product in my cart, give me a 15 minute window to pay for it.

Now I lost a 6th kimchi exclusive due to a website which kept hanging at the checkout.

Yes, but if you are there for the first second the steels go live and are almost done with the order and then the server crashes, that is only frustrating and not fun anymore. If I had been too slow, not due to the server problems, that would be fine with me. But in this way, it is not a fair competition at all, it only is luck. Nevertheless, it is only a steelbook and there are of course more important things in life. But I want to have joy and fun in collecting and not a frustrating experience.

Yeah I see your point mate but kimchi isn't Amazon....

Even though I wanted one and lost out, I'm convinced that when these and Blu Fans versions hit the bay, prices will be below cost. There will simply be too many about to be sold on for that not to happen.

Hellboy anyone?
