I really just can't believe how big of a blunder this is. They misprinted their entire stock. It wasn't that they misprinted a few wrong ones and than went "whoops." They misprinted their entire stock!

These Iron Man steels were possibly Play's biggest and most anticipated release ever, and they messed it up. Add to that the Universal wave, with the missing or wrong discs and wrong slip banners.

They're doing a lot good by catering to us, the collectors. They just need to get a clamp on quality control and examine the roles of whoever is responsible for production.

Obviously a lot of people simply don't care or will never notice. That's evident in a lot of posts here. But as a company, you simply cannot go about making obvious blunders like these. Or maybe you can and people won't care because they're getting a steelbook case with some art and words printed on it.

You're fine to express your opinion but there's no need to insult everyone else as if people here are children. We do care, it's just not that big of a deal for most people.

Here here! Maybe he can tell us what to buy, say and think as we can't make our own tiny little minds up ourselves! I really wish he could go shopping with me, I wouldn't have to think at all :0)

ok guys and girls, keep it friendly

no need to fall out over any of this ;)

remember, easily corrected with modded inner artwork if it bothers anyone

I'm pretty sure Play.com / Paramount are looking into the error to ensure that it doesn't happen again

if you look at Arrow's misfortune this year (Demons single releases, House by the Cemetary), this isn't too bad but yes, it does raise questions about quality control in general

Everyone will just be glad to get their Iron Man steelbooks mint! I'm not bothered personally mistakes happen, it's not the end of the world and I like a lot of people will never open the steel anyway, so had Play not sent the excellent email to everyone, we wouldn't be any the wiser. All I can say now is bring on the 6th August :0) kudos to Play for letting us know. Well done!!!

I sit in the "makes no odds to me" camp. Still excited. Mine WILL be opened.

Here's a question. What date is it likely to be delivered? I currently have it scheduled to be delivered at work, but if it's likely to arrive on a Saturday I might change it to home

Exactly, If you have that much of a problem with it, cancel your order. I am sure somebody else would love to get their hands on one. Regardless of the mess up.

Play are usually pretty good with the deliveries you can probably expect them next Thursday/Friday :D

But don't quote me on that ;)

Don't think it's Play's fault though. They're only retailers. Yeah, they've pushed the studio to do these but the studio is the one that approves artwork and makes all the final decisions, etc. Blame the manufacturers and/or Paramount.

What's the big deal ? it's still a release that a lot of people don't have and you dont have to sell your wife or re-mortgage the house to own the in-famous fs version or german version , how many steels do we own that has no interior artwork ? i have a few in my collection . if you don't like it cancel your order simples :) < -- spoken in meerkat accent :)

I'm just thankful that Play took the time to let their customers know about the mix up... any other etailer would probably just leave it as a "surprise" for when they turn up on our doorsteps.

I'm not that bothered by it anyway. At least it's still actually Iron Man on the interior art... it could have been a lot worse. For a start, there could have been no interior art at all!

You still have the opportunity to cancel your order :). It is not like they debited your account and send the steelz. Play.com informed us before release the change of artwork and now you can decide if you want it or not.

No one is forcing you to buy this :)
