Some good news, I have just received a steelbook from Play and it was delivered in their new steelbook packaging and I know some people were worried that they had run out, but it looks like they have had new stock in! So this bodes well for us getting our beautiful OOP IM steels in perfect condition :0)

I personally think the new inside artwork compliments the outer - Iron Man masked (outer) and unmasked (inner).

Don't see what all the complaints are about.

People (and I can only speak for myself) aren't angry that they cocked it up, more that it's a sort after and exclusive item AND limited so they feel that Play should take more care. It's not about the money, no-one would return their's over this, i'm sure Imagine though, you pre-ordered a new car, then a few days before it came through they said they've sprayed the interior bright pink! And there were no more left.

Just read my emails from them and i cant see an issue
Granted i am not the biggest iron man fan, (not even seen 2 yet lol) but the inside arts both look pretty interchangeable to me and don't seem to make much difference either way.

Im sure all the resellers dont really care either as they wont open it anyway lol.

I think it's great. It's such a non issue for me. IMO, the best IM1 steelbook out there (tbc on delivery)

That's just a matter of opinion!

I personally think the art on this looks far superior to the FS one with it's ugly blu-banner - so please refrain from calling this cheap when it's obviously not!

Play have turned a corner this year with their Steelbooks, with their exclusive rights, artwork, packaging etc. Yes a mistake has happened, but its the same character, so I don't personally have a problem with it. I think Play have handled themselves very well, communicating what has happened without putting their heads in the sand.

If anything, now there's more of a history/story behind both IM 1+2 for collectors to talk about.

Thirded. I'd not really noticed the inside art too much. I was too focused on the awesome cover work(without blu banner) to care. So I wouldn't have even noticed if play hadn't have been kind enough to email. As somebody said earlier, the artwork inside art seems pretty interchangeable

i got an email telling me about the inside artwork. it is still going to be Iron Man.

did the rest of you get an email with something different? like Thor inside artwork or something?

what is wrong with having iron man for the inside artwork of an iron man steelbook?

Well I know many people aren't bothered by the change of inside artwork but whilst I'm glad it's not the outside that's now different it's obvious a mistake has been made somewhere! Wouldn't be so bad if it was new artwork entirely and Yes I know its still Iron Man but they've used stills from the wrong bloody film!! Maybe I'm over reacting but someone should be getting a bollocking for this cock up! Admire Play for keeping us in the know but I'm not happy

You know what I just realised? The inside artwork must be printed before the outer, because it is embossed. They got the OUTER casing mixed up, the inner artwork was wrong due to default, imagine they probably had to switch all the discs as well
