I know there has to be some older steelbook collectors who started with G1's. I have 66 G1 steelbooks and yesterday with the purchase of the 3 bourne movies I officially now have 67 G2 steelbooks with of course one more to come today with the Dark Knight Rises.
My very first ever steelbook was the Departed purchased February 13th 2007. My very first bluray steelbook was Snow White released October 6th 2009. At first the only bluray steelbooks I bought were the $5 preorder steels at Best Buy like Up and Pirates of the Caribbean 4. I got my first bluray player last August for my birthday and then in the last year really started to collect bluray steelbooks, at the time I probably had just 6-8 bluray steelbooks. So almost 5 years for G2 to catch up with G1

I've just bought some
Will have to watch out when buying from Ebay that they are properly described as G2's
), another one to watch out for if you're not a G1 fan is True Grit (CA - FS). Also doesn't have Embossing either.
