Wow, great cover with strong primary colours (unlike the original posters) ...

... and almost as iconic as the "Pulp Fiction" cover ...

... but got to ask "Is the artwork/steelbook Tarantino approved" ? (lol)

Pan's Labyrinth slip didn't wow you? That full slip is one of the best around, IMO

The gold one is nice but far from the best around

As an example of 2 that’s much better - Blufans beauty and the beast full slip, nova pulp fiction illustrated slip.

But it’s not bad

i have always complained about the finished on my UK steel waiting for a better release but no matter if this is glossed and embossed/debossed i will be waiting for something better in 10 years or so lol

Hoping they scrap the whole art

Give me the original black poster art (not sure that’s ever been used)

Or this. Looks much better

The original posters for JACKIE BROWN are mostly pretty dull and, yes, it's a question of taste but I reckon this is one of the best-looking steelbooks I've seen in a while paying homage as it does to the star of the film Pam Grier, to her clothes - the blue of the Cabo Air uniform, the red of that famous red dress ... and the yellow of the title ...

... and to some of those blaxpoitation movies from the '70s - the films that after all made her name - and I would hate to see the strong block colours dissipated thus lessening the impact of the design.

When all's said and done we've already had at least three steelbooks in 'traditional style' for this film:-

This steelbook design, although looking fresh and new for a JACKIE BROWN product, is also traditional hearkening back to the kind of films that inspired Tarantino and featured Pam Grier:-

etc.

Not forgetting the slipcase:-

lets get the pre orders going and see those sexy slips . gonna be a one click for me :naughty: :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Your going to one click even though you not seen the slips?

I mean after the nice guys white slip with the palm trees I’d wanna see the slips before I even commit to one clicking

Much better! Amazing what a simple colour tweak can do... the orange definitely suits the film more.
I've never seen the film (well, I've started it twice and twice gave up...it just didn't grip me like his others), but the yellow, red and blue does seem a little like a Lego set. I dont know why, it's just that those primary colours looks like colours that would be used on toddler's toys.

To be honest, I also found it a struggle to get through back when I first saw it maaaaany years ago. Thankfully I can watch it with ease now and really enjoy it, although it's definitely different to Tarantino's other work IMO and probably my least favourite of his.

You're not alone in regards to the steel anyway... myself and @nafosb made the exact same connection (Lego/Duplo) lol. The colours definitely give a childlike vibe to it, which this film certainly ain't!

I see what you mean but I don't envy anyone copying that mozaic tiled wall in Lego bricks ... but would love to see that scene created in Lego instead of this scene in the kitchen:-

Adding to the classic status of the artwork is the airport scene in homage to a similar scene from a bona fide classic from thirty years previous :-

... and the tile mosaic installed at the airport in 1961 as a backdrop to the iconic intro at LAX (Terminal 3):-
