Just seen it's a Mondo release

I might get this but the shipping costs are high if you want to purchase the coloured Vinyl

The Black Vinyl will most likely be available from most usual soundtrack retailers

No disrespect mate but you need to re-read or at least read more than just the headline in the tweet. Everyone knows about this JAWS OST since it's the typical 1$ Fleamarket find that's in every bin when browsing through records https://www.discogs.com/John-Willia...iginal-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack/master/15639

Mondo will do for the first time the entire score as it was composed and recorded for the movie. All the previous releases are just re-recordings.

Shipping cost are even lower for international buyers than for previous orders. It's now 13$ instead of 14$. At least for me to Germany.

Read the post please. It's the first time this track list have been released on vinyl. It's not even the same recording. So yes it's a reissue but not really.

EDIT: too late, dan was quicker ^^

I know it's the remaster that was released on CD for Jaws: The 25th Anniversary and yes it's the first time the full score is been released on Vinyl but the tweet had reissue as well listed in the same tweet that was my point I was making.
Pitchfork tweet has Jaws Soundtrack Reissue Announced as it's headline combined with John Williams’ iconic soundtrack to Jaws is getting its first official vinyl release

The Vinyl copy I have is the first pressing issue on Vinyl not a cheap later reissue that you can still purchase today from all on-line retailers and high street record shops

Cheapest Shipping for me with Mondo is $22 DHL International Shipping

I didn't want to come to harsh on you but other people visit this thread and may believe your post and pass on this. And I'm pretty sure the colored release will sell out.
This is a great achievement again for Mondo doing an amazing job with this OST vinyl releases.

I do not want to disappoint you but I also talk about the 1975 release. The very first may be a tenner or something but it's really all over the place. You may want to check which pressing it is, seems like the first is MCA-2087 https://www.discogs.com/John-Willia...nal-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack/release/1506203

Oh, I thought all International orders got the same cost. Mine was $48 shipped to Germany.

I have been purchasing Vinyl Soundtracks on Vinyl since the 70's
It's 100% a first pressing as are lot of my other Vinyl soundtracks I have in my collection
I started to purchase Vinyl Sountracks when I was 10 years of age in 1976 and later years in the 80's purchased a lot of Vinyl
Jaws Vinyl soundtrack was given to me from my uncle when it was first released.
I also have some first pressings of Vinyl Soundtracks from the 50' and 60's in my collection I got from specialist soundtrack record stores in London

I was the soundtrack buyer for Tower Records for years I have a very large collection of soundtracks on both Vinyl and CD

That's awesome mate and I really don't want to put you on the spot with this. But fact is that most vinyl collectors don't care about OSTs and that's why they don't raise in value.
They only held value when it's never repressed or reissued again, when the composer is any special like Jazz musicians or electro artists, when it's a fancy Japanese pressing or Japanese band, or a rare Horror soundtrack.
But stuff like JAWS or Titanic is all over the place. You can find the first pressing for 3-10$. But that doesn't mean it's worthless. Most of the time it holds more personal value than it's worth in money.
And in the end it's the music and the sound that's important and not the money that you could get for it.

I know the value of a lot of soundtrack on Vinyl even if they are first pressings are not worth much bar a few exceptions
I don't look at any of my Vinyl collection in regards to how much they are worth or any of my CD collection of Soundtracks even though some can be sold for decent prices and some of them are very rare.

It's my love of film music and films in general that started for me from an early age and continues today and is also why I purchase lot of films on Blu-ray including steelbooks as I also did with DVD and VHS.

As I don't sell any of my Music or Film collection the possible re-sale value means nothing to me even if I have a release worth a lot of money it won't be sold by me put passed on in my will instead to the person I decide get's my collection.

When I was soundtrack buyer with Tower Records getting paid to do the job was a bonus to me and like a kid in a candy store

I was actually going to be opening a specialist Soundtrack and Film Shop in London back in 2001 but had to cancel the plans at the last moment and if I ever come into huge amount of funds that might happen but at my age now looking unlikely.

I know I not been posting much in the Vinyl section until recently but my interest in films and the cinema started with my love for film music and I have been collecting Vinyl Soundtracks before I started collecting VHS or DVD.

Sorry if I came across the wrong way earlier in my post

Thanks
Paul

Why does it have to Mondo that always release the soundtracks I really want?! Think I might actually have to risk being charged customs this time, because I don't want to miss this one!

I'm the same I like to see a UK or European store set setup by Mondo or licence another european retailer to sell on their behalf the limited edition coloured vinyl releases as with shipping and possible customs charges ordering from them direct is very expensive and I passed on some of their releases due that in regards to coloured vinyl editions but at least the Black Vinyl editions can be purchased from European retailers if still want the soundtrack itself.

I ordered this release from Mondo direct this time and just have to hope it avoids customs but I'm not getting my hopes up
If I do get hit for customs I'm looking at an extra €11.50+ €7.00 handling fee making it an extra €18.50 on top of the €50.00 I already paid today

The last few Mondo soundtracks I've had, they've marked the value down low, thus avoiding the customs charges :)
What value did they mark and was this done without you asking them to do this and how good is their packaging for Vinyl for International Customers when been shipped

I tell a lie, the last 2 I've had have been sent to a central hub in Middlesex then cleared through customs automatically (no value on outside of the package) and then sent on using Yodel. I kept the last mailer in case I needed to post out any records myself as it was such a strong mailer, you've got nothing to worry about the packaging they use, very sturdy and strong.
