They are fads by definition.
Due to choice and speed of advancements in tech, they have become fads - we’ve had 5 formats in 20 years!! (Going from DVD end of the 90’s, through Blu-Ray, 3D, 4K and digital..which rumblings of 8k, the 6th, already occurring.)
The latest iPhone is a fad until the next...same thing.

Fads aren’t a fashion thing, it’s a “...widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived.”
We just see the ‘wide’ aspect shrinking with each consecutive format.
There are less people bothered about Blu-ray over dvd, less again for 3D etc

I’d be inclined to argue VHS wasn’t a fad due to it’s 20 ish year life cycle. DVD’s are grey area, IMO, as they aren’t dead but aren’t relevant or the latest/best etc
8K Rumblings lol cinema has had it for ages and 8K TV’s are already available. I’m skipping 4K entirely and going to straight to 8K. There is only one more reasonable jump after that as human eye can only see so much and it would be available for years anyway.

Not in the U.K.
Cinemas still pimp out their 4K screens as a special uograde(it’s crap obviously as most are 4K already if digital projection)
8k tv’s are barely here and content is still an impending ‘rumbing’

Fact is, there are less, adopters with each format due to the quicker and quicker succession of the next one coming out.

Anyway, enough derailment....let’s hope Nova are listening and leave tray spaces for those of you wanting to add the additional format discs :)

And more importantly that we hear something from Nova regarding this release coming sooner rather than later

I was talking about the UK but never mind.

I hope that they don’t leave any extra trays in the steel. I want mine all natural please, no discs that didn’t come with it

Besides it’s piss easy to swap a double holder in anyway for those that feel the need to pimp up their copies.

Am expecting this to go live nov/dec, smack bang in the middle of the Christmas season.

In the middle of busy shopping time and money being it's tightest owing to gift purchases and merriment.... Sigh

As for the actual release, I wouldn't be surprised if we seen a Jan date (be a nice b'day gift to myself if so)
I recall the first two being a little behind other home releases but only by months at most

Sure, 4K would have been nice, but face it, we buy this for the killer Lenticular and the gorgeous Steelbook within.
I have made my previous 2 JW Lenticular editions into BD / 4K, I will simply do the same with this one.
Agreed....am just trying not to build myself up for non-matching disappointment when the lenti isn’t a ‘staring down the barrel of a gun’ image like the last 2

I wonder how long they'll be able to drag it out - I reckon we'll get 5 movies

There's been on and off discussion about a prequel series on one of the streaming services over the past couple of years.
