I will wait for the reviews first then are these defo 100GB discs what were the old ones 50gb discs ?
The Atmos could be amazing if done properly I suppose with a proper healthy bitrate upgrade for DV.
Pass judgement when we get the reviews then cheers dude.
It won't be night and day, these things rarely are, but it will be enough for many enthusiasts to upgrade I'm sure. Even a better encode is what makes many people upgrade. Macroblocking etc can be the worst thing for a disc. The dtsx was excellent, but like most of them, they were very bass heavy, so there is room for improvement.

I don't know why anyone expected anything other than new dv and atmos, that's all that was noted on the jcard. These don't need new 4k scans, they were done new when the og 4ks came out. Sony do this all the time, simply add dv, and nobody complains about that.
3 discs in one steel for £50 is taking the p!ss now mate for catalogue titles. Not just with this but with a lot. They’re all greedy c*nts and I’ll f**king say it when I feel the need to say it in every thread hoping it effects sales so these f**ks learn and start charging appropriate prices. It won’t work but it makes me feel like a f**king god!

Also even Jurassic park 3 is 24 years old now. These prices are honestly disgusting. 4K or not. Both steels should be £30 at absolute best. They wana charge £50 then add a rigid slip box and loads of extras for the trilogies. Behind the scene art cards and all sorts. Make it actually worth it. And the dead space around the images worth it lol

It wasn't so much an argument on pricing there bud, i think prices have gone nuts myself, just my opinion on what a film does or doesn't need doing to it from a technical perspective.

I resent paying £50 for this, so I'm not. Comparatively though, £50 for a 3 4k film steel, particularly one touting "new" discs, isn't the end of the world. Not when you compare other studios selling a single catalogue steel for 30 - or 35 with lionsgate and the QT films. I hate that. £25 for a catalogue 4k steel or gtfo.

I realise that first part seems like I’m arguing with you. I’m not. Just saying.

I’m just sick of all these sh!tty prices for stuff with no care put into it.

And this is a tough one for me. JP is literally my favourite film. Well, shared with The Thing!

No it's cool, I didn’t think you were. You're just aggravated by pricing. Agreed. I can see my collecting on non-premium stuff and the odd arrow really slowing down now. It's getting stupid out there.

I love JP, but I've got the og zavvi trilogy steels and the uhdc trilogy big box, so I'm good. I'll just want to replace those discs with these lol

I pretty much only want this for JP1 so I'll be giving it a miss. Completely agree on pricing too. I started this habit relatively late on compared to most here, but even in just the last couple of years it's gone from me being able to get a few releases every 3-4 months to having to be far pickier with them and trying to cut out most things that I either haven't seen yet or that I'm not completely desperate to own.
