A bit of a newbie question here, so apologies. I paid in full for the One Click yesterday, via a Group Buy, but does that still 100% guarantee me a copy? Meaning, how does the person running the GB know for sure that he/she will be able to get a bunch of sets when they go live on pre-sale launch?
They’ll be in contact with the retailer

Manta/ Collectong will assign however many GB hosts they have a number of editions. And they need to give their numbers of how many of what editions they sold a few days before the public pre order so that Manta can adjust how many are sold on their site.

If you’ve paid you should be absolutely fine. Only one GB host has had their allocation cancelled in the past so as long as you haven’t ordered from KOSM it should be all good

@PlightOfTheInnovator

Which GB did you use? If the GB host is already well known, you don't have to worry. GB hosts are already in contact with Collectong / Manta Lab before the sale starts. They have a guaranteed allocation of available copiesI
I'm curious about that as well. I went into Group Buys and only see the FAC version available, unless of course I've forgotten how to search groupbuys. Who is it that's hosting this groupbuy?

Wow thanks, very informative. It's a group buy outside of hidefninja, so I'm not sure if it's the done thing to mention others? And no it's not KOSM, but I received a order from that guys ebay shop just this week, so I wouldn't count the fella out just yet. Thanks again.

This does look a stunning steel as well as a great design for the DL A which yes does remind me of Apocalypse Now however I don’t love the film (sorry big Godzilla Fan) and I already have the Film Arena set so not double dipping this time.

Only if you like counting on him to hold onto your money and not respond to any of your messages.

I think they even have to buy out a certain number, so if not sold to others, they take them and hold and keep selling after preorder and release, usually for an even higher price.
They only need to give the shipping addresses of where those copies go, to certain various buyers, or themselves.

I've tried buying from him on eBay, thinking I'd be more protected there. Out of five auctions I bid on he canceled 4, and then dragged on with various excuses with the 5th, until I forgot to file a complaint in time, so now he stole even more money from me, on top of £100s he owes for MantaLab preorders, and the 3 UHDClub LotR boxes purchased here on this forum a year ago.

Yeah, I totally understand where you're coming from, because he dicked me around the first time (2 orders cancelled, but refunded) so when his new shop started up I thought I'd have another go, as he had the things I wanted, all the time understanding that maybe I'm a massive gullible sucker!! But out of the 4 sets I've bought off him I've received all 4. I've no reason to be making this **** up, because I'm not his mate, I don't even know the guy. But those who claim he's a total scam are wrong. He's probably a tight arse and doesn't want to employ any staff to help run his show, thinking he's a bit of a renaissance man who can do it all himself, but obviously can't. I just wish Zavvi or HMV would stock the stuff he sells!!! But they don't, so that's that.

I ordered some things from him off eBay, he did send a package but it was missing one steelbook. I contacted him, got no response, he later contacts me asking for feedback and I tell him I'm missing a steelbook to which he tells me he'll look into it, that was back in January and all my other messages have been ignored.

He may not be a scam artist but he is intentionally ignoring messages and that's a problem when managing expectations is usually the most important part of running a business. It confuses me why he wants to make things so difficult, customers can be hard to deal with even through no fault of your own, looking for trouble is just crazy.

I've been leaning pretty heavily toward the DL-A, but that Full Slip art is kinda calling me.

Tough decision. Wish the back of the DL-A didn't look like copy and paste because that front is perfect.

I’m the same. I’ve been fighting a battle inside swapping between the FS and DL A

I was going to stick with the FS to match the others but then I realised I have the Godzilla X Kong single lenti so it sticks out anyway and don’t matter if I go for a lenti here.

Also where I have the zavvi steelbook with the better placement of the images for the Japanese Kaju art I’m probably okay to skip it here and just go with the Apocalypse Now art that I’ve wanted since day 1 (regardless of that sh!tty still frame on the back).
I may regret it because you just know the FS will look great in hand with a killer finish but I seriously need that AN artwork and I doubt I’ll buy the film again after this
