I've had multiple deliveries damaged from Amazon UK, Amazon.IT & US because of sub par packaging, from boxsets to steelbooks unfortunately. Glad you have had positive experiences though. Also, that there are some that are happy to order from Amazon like yourself, as it means less competition for HMV purchases for people such as myself. I'll generally only risk it with US exclusives & occasionally Italy now.
Amazon Italy a good few years ago I had issues with damaged items but that was before Amazon Ireland setup 2 delivery stations in 2020 in Dublin and also a fulfilment centre in 2022

My orders from Amazon UK/Italy/France/Germany go direct from Amazon fulfilment centre in those countries to the Amazon Ireland Warehouse and then delivered by amazon logistics van drivers so parcels when shipped are not been handled by different postal services
Some UK/EU releases also get shipped by suppliers direct to Amazon Ireland fulfilment centre with next day delivery

Note
A dedicated amazon Ireland Website will be launching in 2025 with delivery to address in Ireland and later will also include delivery to other EU countries

I never had Amazon UK do that with any of my orders all have been shipped in a cardboard mailer or box packaging and delivered by amazon logistics Ireland van drivers
Amazon Ireland deliver Mon to Sun including doing delivery on bank holidays

I get free shipping on all my orders where Amazon UK is the seller and also with third party seller items when it's fulfilled by amazon UK I have prime membership

I only use Zavvi or HMV if they have a exclusive
Amazon are by far far and away the worst for packaging steelbooks. They are just blurays to them, rarity and price mean nothing. They just send them out in the A1 and A2 slips that offer no protection. If you have never had anything arrive damaged, you are the exception and incredibly lucky.

I would only ever order steelbooks from them as a last resort.

Sounds like Ireland is the place to be for Amazon then bud... I'll bare it in mind when I'm over there.

Honestly, Zavvi packaging been best of the bunch for me recently. No oversized mailers or sandwiched in a flat cardboard wraparound

It'd be nice if Universal could do their own boxes like WB did for NOES... maybe HMV had good feedback/less damages with NOES and decided to do their own for the £1 extra... maybe wishful thinking.

Expensive morning with this and HMV has (had 4k) Criterion sale at 40% off. Managed to snag four I wanted.
They sold out quickly.
Yes, went super quickly! 7.30am I picked up Risky B & Dazed & Confused ("back in stock soon") so guessing on back order... not sure how often they restock Criterion... maybe @paulboland knows?

Bit worried they'll cancel now if saying sold out

HMV items on back order will be ok as long they can still order more stock from suppliers
If a release has gone OOP then will depend if some stock available in store

Surprised this one hasn't shifted faster. I wasn't quite expecting the king kong bloodbath, but I was expecting a few sell outs within a few hours.

I went via rarewaves for the Criterion sale. They apply the 40% as a reduction in item price, rather than the need for a code, so you can also apply the 10% off code they have for Halloween that expires today.

Weird, says the 10% off isn't applicable when I try.... Even though their own FB page says you can use it in the Criterion sale.
