Major update from Choi 7/13/2013: [Mod. Edit: PLEASE READ]

Today I officially announced the pre-order date & time for 2nd round
as I said before, Kimchi will fix pre-order date & time based on UK time zone.:scat:

London (United Kingdom - England) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 13:00:00 BST UTC+1 hour
Seoul (South Korea) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 21:00:00 KST UTC+9 hours
Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

What Choi is saying is that it is confirmed that there will be no embossing of the dolphin.

The edge of the steelbook would have to be embossed in order to emboss anything on the steelbook.

Only the title will be embossed.

Since he is saying that the border would have to be embossed in order to emboss anything else on the steelbook, i guess this means the border will be embossed as the title will be embossed?!

I thought his quote said the title would be debossed, not embossed. If so, it wouldn't need to have a border. I think some people might be getting debossed and embossed mixed up.

Can you not read he as stated that it will have a border

read post 284

I don't think that's what he said. He says the title will be debossed, thus no need for the embossed border. I think if you go back, to that post, he bolds what's going to be on this release. The border comment isn't in bold. I believe he is just saying, IF there is any embossing done like the title or even dolphins, then it also needs a embossed border like in Terminator's case. But since there is no embossing, it doesn't need the border. It was supposedly going to have embossed dolphins at one point, which would have given a need for a border, but since there are no longer embossed dolphins it doesn't need the border anymore. We can get further confirmation, but that's what it reads like to me.

I guess I didn't have to type all that out since Tuffeerik already said the same thing.

Sorry for misunderstanding,

Only debossed title, No boarder.

Like Super 8, Safe house, Wanted debossed

Sometimes simple expression is better for mutual understanding.

Thanks Choi!

I can't wait for this to go live. Remember seeing this film in my teenage years and absolutely loved it. This release is going to be awesome, no doubt about it.

One more thing Choi. Use your influence with Tony & Kimchi to re-release the masterpiece of a movie that's in your avatar. :D

I don't understand all the audio muck-ups with this film, it's getting ridiculous.
I appreciate the director is French, it's a French film and 2 of the 3 main actors are also French but the film was shot in English so why the hell would they have :-
Audio: English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0, French DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1
The French is a bad dub, not even the original French actors !!!!

Damn... I would really like this to have as much embossing and debossing as possible. I was really disappointed when it was confirmed no embossing on the dolphin. Imo a steelbook has more of a quality feel to it when it has that because it looks and feels like more thought is put into it. Like tron viva metal case for example... It would not be the same without embossing/debossing. It would just seem plain and imo almost a bit boring...

If one steelbook deserved a crackle finish, then this is it. Maybe 1k with art cards, and 1k with a crackle finish. Imagine that sea sparkling through a glint of crackled varnish!

Well I would have preferred embossed dolphins as well. Considering this to be a grail release or re-release and on top of that being a Kimchi Exclusive, embossed dolphins was very much expected and necessary as well.

If the debossed bullet holes on Lawless got so much attention and popularity, this would have been the ultimate steelbook with both the debossed title and embossed dolphins in addition to the already beautiful deep blue artwork. If only they would have asked us (the actual buyers and collectors of steelbooks) just once for our opinion :(

Why everybody wants debossing so much ?
I mean, for me the finish of the steelbook has to be in keeping with the film itself, and I don't think this film is well represented by crackle finish of embossing everywhere. It's an emotional, classy film, so IMO the finish that will be the mostin keeping with it is a glossy finish with nothing but the title embossed

If you have that much embossing the steel will become too thin and have that 'pop' that lots of others have (Django for example). If you were to emboss the Dolphins than you'd need a sturdier metal than they seem to use nowadays (Play Star Trek) which would make it more expensive.

I'll take minor embossing, and high quality finish at a decent price. Over embossing doesn't do it for me.
