Today I officially announced the pre-order date & time for 2nd round

London (United Kingdom - England) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 13:00:00 BST UTC+1 hour
Seoul (South Korea) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 21:00:00 KST UTC+9 hours
Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

I remember Wreck saying comic book movies like Iron Man, Thor, Hulk etc. will never be safe from re-releases (which is understandable). It would be the more obscure artsy movies that will be more safe... I guess NOTHING is safe anymore :(

Keep that in mind before putting too much money on a steel :)

That is true to a degree, I don't see Zavvi releasing this any time soon, but the days of truly exclusive Steelbooks are over. Studios and retailers have realised the profit making potential and as long as people continue to buy re-releases, they will continue to make them. Anyone from Paramount/Zavvi would have been rubbing their hands together had they read the Captain America/Thor threads.

Oh and this is a lot better than Iron Man & John Rambo combined, movie wise I mean. This movie is a masterpiece, when IM and JR are pop-corn/action packed movies which don't bring anything new to the table except for the special effects. :)

Full ack !
There are enough action and superhero movies out there (some even with the same plot), but this film is wonderful and unique ...

And those who spent £1k+ on a sealed version

Look, I feel for ya bud. I was the one who suggested that people who have this, and paid big bucks for it to speak up, as you should. But to be fair to Kimchi, it is NOT an exact copy of the original. Many many things makes this release different than the original. Hopefully, if enough of you speak up, they'll change the artwork. Its possible. I was the only one that complained about the print run in that T2 thread, and now we're getting a numbered sticker with this release. It can be done. It makes no difference to me if they change this artwork or not, I don't have the original. But to be fair to Kimchi, they did an exceptional job on this release. They got so many things right!

I have to be honest, I'm picturing this release in my head, and it looks absolutely phenomenal. I can't help you with the complaining on this release. You'll have to do it on your own. Best of luck bud, may the force be with you.

I came very close to buying this on a Japan auction site just a few weeks ago, but was outbid at the last minute.
All I can say is thank god I was.
But I do feel for anyone who's paid the asking price for the original.
This version I am sure will be mind-blowing even if I would have preferred a different film for exclusive No 2..;)

All I want to say is - Thank you Kimchi.

It's a beautiful steelbook and I would absolutely love to have it in my collection when I have the opportunity. And I don't think the prices of the JP LGB will be affected by this release at all. We all know that collectors will continue to be willing to pay a premium for that steel, and that's not going to change in a hurry.

Now please being on Gladiator with the TW artwork so that I can lay my lay my grubby little paws on that masterpiece as well.

In my opinion, I think it will. It is pretty much the same release but with some extra add ons. Although grail hunters are always going to want the original, there needs to be a foundation of collectors that want this as well to keep the 'demand' there. And most collectors are going to pay the re-release no doubt about it at all.

If there are not enough interest because a majority have bought the Kimchi, there is not enough interest to keep the demand going and the value will eventually drop down for the Japan version.

Don't know what the original print run was on that, but I can't imagine people who have a copy in their personal collections would want to let go of the JP one in a hurry. And we all know that 'hardcore' collectors will look for mint copies of a steelbook which came out to market more than 3.5 years ago.
So, I don't think that market will let the prices crash. If someone had 10 copies on the other hand.. Who knows!

The question is though, now with a better version of the steelbook being released, how much will those collectors be willing to spend to get the original version? I think the JP version could easily lose half of it's value.

It doesn't have to be 'grail hunters' that just want the Japan version.

All rare steels have interests to everyone. But there are some collectors that 'must have' the original just to complete their collection.

Well put it this way, I reckon 95% + of collectors that wanted LGB before this re-release are not going to pay at least £500 + for the original version lol. Everyone is going to get the re-release and most probably not going to get the £500 version. It would not make any logical sense to do that.

And the 5% that will only want the original 'grail' version will still hunt the Japan version. But the value has already been effected because the foundation of the original collectors that want the Japan one are no longer interested.

Do not worry to harm origianl JP one

This is not re-print one,
Re-release one with embossed & debossed
And inner artwork will be totally different

So each has own chacteristics, pros and cons

I do not worry like this problem will be happened in the future even if I have origianal JP one

I hope everybody enjoy this great movie and own copy for luc besson collection :D

Choi my man, for once we see eye to eye. Don't know about it not harming the Jp one though. Some unique situations exist with this release. I don't ever recall a re release being so much better, offering so much more than the original than this title. Congratulations to Tony for that, extremely well done. And 2, LGB JP doesn't come sealed, big big problem. You have to look at it from a not knowing ebay bidder POV. All they know is sealed, or not sealed, and will bid accordingly. The vast majority of the public do not know that the original doesn't come sealed, so will classify it as "used". With this one offering so much more, its easy to see which version they'll choose. Thats why I encourage the people who have these to speak up. This release as is, will seriously put a dent on the original Jp version.

You are one lucky dude! You got a gem there. An article of true rarity!

Since you received it directly fr Amazon Jpn, could you tell me whether it arrived shrinkwrapped.

Sorry for being off topic but this is an issue that serious collectors want to know.

It did NOT ARRIVE shrinkwrapped !! I got mine also DIRECTLY from amazon.jp and it was open !!

Hope that helps
