Today I officially announced the pre-order date & time for 2nd round
as I said before, Kimchi will fix pre-order date & time based on UK time zone.:scat:

London (United Kingdom - England) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 13:00:00 BST UTC+1 hour
Seoul (South Korea) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 21:00:00 KST UTC+9 hours
Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

Will it be embossed/debossed on both sides or just the front? I can't say i'm a fan of having the title on the front and back.

I undertand that but if thats the case then it dosent make much sense that both sides say version longue and version originale... i dunno i think i just rather have a clean back, but im not trying to sound ungratefull i still think it looks gourgeus just pointing out it could look even better!
Front = extended cut

Back = theatrical cut.

And for all of you who are afraid they're going to miss out on the fist 1000 copies, well... don't worry. I have news who'll make everybody happy, just need confirmation from Tony/Choi and I'll announce it officially.

Let's say all the bases are covered :naughty:

what is hyper gloss? sorry for my ignorance haha

Gloss (paint)

"Paint and other finishes come in a variety of finish gloss levels, which correspond to different levels of specular reflection."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gloss_(paint)

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's the same as high gloss? :dunno:

Also, does anyone know what is on the third disc of the original LGB steelbook? Is it a DVD copy or extra features disc?

Whatever kimchi brings out will be epic plan to collect them all baby yes sir

I am with you on this one. If the way T2 was handled is any indication as to the time and effort they put into making sure all goes smoothly, I don't know what would. Glad I got the first and will continue as long as they are putting them out.

You hit the nail on the head mate.

Who has honestly watched this film, prior to it being a steelbook?
Not many I bet, I've never heard of this film till I knew it was an ultra rare steelbook. The movie is indeed a snoozer, unless you like arthouse films. If the film wasn't a grail I doubt many would even be interested in the film.

Honestly, Drive HMV re-release with the works sounds better.

If KimchiDVD was going to re-release a grail they should have chosen a popular title with replay value. I'm talking about Iron Man FS, John Rambo DE, and Gladiator TW. A film people actually want to see, not b/c it was released in a limited format and is now worth an arm. I'm positive a pole would prove true.

In the end, I'm simply one of the few unimpressed.

I have watched it! :) And the film actually sank deep into me that I wanted so much to watch it again on blu-ray. I kept waiting for an American release until I couldn't wait I grabbed the French release at a low price only last year.

I am not impressed by this steelbook's design though, being the same dark blue and black all over, as if every thing is taking place in near darkness. The scenes in the movie are mostly in bright daylight.

I cannot believe how many people here have not heard of Le Grande Bleu. Are you people not into movies at all? Luc Besson is a very well known director and this is one of his early movies that got his name on the map. It was released here in the States as "The Big Blue". It's reasonably well-known and I a lot of my friends were watching it when it first came out on VHS / Laserdisc.

I do agree though that it is being rereleased because of how highly-sought-after the Japanese version is. Lame! Nonetheless I will be buying it.... no-brainer!

It was released in the States as "The Big Blue" but a much shorter version, I read.

But be careful with mentioning the name Luc Besson. Everyone associates him with fast, lively, even loud movies. LGB is totally the opposite. :D
