Note previous UK 4K releases of Leon only had Directors Cut on 4K UHD with Theatrical cut been on Blu-ray

This new UK release advertised as The Definitive Edition has listed both Theatrical and Director's cuts in 4K UHD
3 Discs (1 x UHD Disc + 2 Blu-ray Discs)

Also has new extras

Extras
Interview with André Labbouz, technical director at Gaumont
Interview with Thierry Arbogast, cinematographer
Interview with Sylvie Landra, film editor
Interview with Alain Kruger, journalist

Sweet. Didn’t think we’d get this. Hopefully our spine is the correct way round

Cheeky order. I do like the art on this release.

Didn't need another copy till the excuse of having both cuts in 4k sold me down the river.

(£35 though on top of that EB Edition, I might still have to cancel if we get some newer steel releases in December )

US steelbook (the one where Leon is shielding Matilda from explosion) has both cuts in UHD I think.
But I have this on preorder from France anyway, and glad there's new interviews.

Absolute scam, if you buy this you're telling them you're a mug. USA got both cuts from the start and the UK got scammed then, now years and many releases of Leon later we get what we should of got back then for £35 with sh*t artwork, what a joke.
I own far too many copies of this film already, original blu ray steelbook, the standard 4k and the EB ultimate box.
We didn't even get both cuts in the zavvi EB release or any of the 4k premiums to my knowledge.

I could be wrong here, but the USA release does have both cuts in UHD, but.....I didn't see it come out in steelbook form. I'm buying the UK steelbook, but if i wanted to save money, I could just get the regular one for less than $20.

Ended up cancelling this for now. Too much coming out on the 2nd, and I'm happy enough with the last steel. Not fussed enough about having the theatrical cut in 4K for £35.

Finally charged this morning by HMV

Really hope this is spot glossed (or full)

Edit: dispatched

From that French steel review Paul posted, it looks another streaky matte finish. You can see it when he moves it across the light. :hilarious:
No spot gloss.
We can't win here. Quite expensive this one, especially as it's a double dip.
Deffo going back unopened unless by miracle it's spot gloss. Not too bothered about having the Theatrical in 4k. It was more for the steel art.
