I don't believe this is a 4K release. The specs indicate it is a 2K scan from the interpositive, which puts the disc firmly in the Blu-ray only category.cheaper on gruv
also,
is the world not ready for mr beefy in 4k?
You're a d!ck though, so technically the right forumwrong forum![]()

Aren't most movies 2k though? I could be wrong. Unless it's a remastered (scanned to 4K from film) all movies are 2K (at least the CGI special effects), even the Marvel movies are like this.I don't believe this is a 4K release. Films shot on 2K are upscaled to 4K in order to achieve a 4K image, albeit done artificially. Sometimes this process works out great and the upscaling provides a noticeable increase in resolution, sometimes not. All I know is that this scan will not increase the pixel count high enough to qualify as 4K, so it is, in technical terms, a definitive standard Blu-ray master. It really comes down to how proper the mastering was done that dictates the quality of the picture. For all we know, the 2K scan for Little Nicky will come out great and perhaps even look better than some 4K's out there. If that ends up being the case, then the technicalities discussed here will have become nothing more than semantics.Aren't most movies 2k though? I could be wrong.
