now up on BR.

they listing as 5 bd so now presuming all extras on bd which still leans towards 3d being correct.

These will NOT be 3D!

If these were 3D they would of released it at the cinema to capitalize on the release of The Hobbit, there would of been announcements galore and they wouldn't of just snuck it out under the radar

It's the same 5 disc edition that has already been released but in steelbook packaging just like a load more other Warner releases

The artwork even says ARTWORK SUBJECT TO CHANGE on the listing

It's clearly a mockup that incorrectly shows the 3D logo.

If I'm wrong, I'll happily post a video apologising to all but at the moment I am 100% confident that this is INCORRECT based on how older films that have been converted to 3D have been released

I don't think I-Robot's 3D transfer got a theatrical release. These could very well be 3D....guess we will just have to wait and see.

That's because 20th Century Fox have a deal with JVC to release certain back catalogue titles direct to Blu-Ray. This is WB and a multi billion dollar franchise.

i would imagine you are correct, if this was going to be released in 3d i'd guess it would have had a cinema release to milk as much cash as possible out of it

I think New Line has pretty much milked all the theatrical showing money they are going to get out of these at this point. When they showed the extended editions here right before the blu ray versions came out the theater was a damn ghost town.

i see where rob is coming from, but i wouldn't completely count these out being 3D just because of the studio and it's not a new film. anything could happen, and let's be honest we have seen every money method with LOTR..

I know it was part of an april fools video but Jackson said in LOTR filming they were taking 3D photos on framing a lot in shooting on sets.

Valuable info to make a really good 3D conversion if they do. I hope they do. If Predator got a conversion treatment so should LOTR, if only to be in-line with Hobbit in viewing experience also.

Agreed. There's no way the studios would not miss out on giving these another theatrical run in 3D first before releasing them on 3D BD, and if they were going to be released in 3D they would've made a big song and dance about it to make sure everyone knew it was coming, especially with the Hobbit movies doing the rounds at the moment

Entertainment Store have this for £17.49, currently the cheapest of any retailer.

Ok so it's not 3d so what's on the 5 discs ?
Probably the same discs as the boxset.
