Everybody keeps talking about the twist but i though it was a bit predictable. Still, it was super entertaining and i trully had a blast. James Wan prooves once again that he has a profound insight of the cinematic language and history to be able to pull off such an intentionally campy, bonkers, 80s throwback fun fest the way he does here. I mean, even the poor dialogue seems intentional and i loved that choice for this film. Instant cult classic

Just watched it and it’s honestly one of the worst horror films I’ve seen. I couldn’t stop laughing. And not in a good way. And part of that was because I guessed what was going on within 2 minutes of the film starting as a joke and it turned out to be true lol

I literally said that i think it’s a demon tumour, which is ridiculous even for James wan standards. I was slightly wrong, it turned out to be a f**king ninja demon tumour!! It was so ridiculous. The only eerie thing was the way it moved. But then even that looked poor after a while and gave the animated fight scenes in blade 2 a run for its money! The face was like some awful home made budget bloody potato and it’s voice was like some villain from an 80s cartoon. Like megaton in Transformers. Some very strange choices indeed. Never again

Was putting off watching it because of some bad opinions in 'da eentarnet', but finally did today, and surprisingly, it's one if the best, most original movies - not just this year, and not in this genre only, but ever!
It's fun, scary, captivating, entertaining, bloody, yet not nauseatingly so, it's not exploitative, not torture gore porn for mentally sick, and the story is really good. I did guess what was going on half way, but it was interesting watching how the film plays with the audience that still hasn't understood, giving clues here and there.
Music is great, stylized to the 80's. I guess 'they're' sticking retro synth anywhere now, but I don't mind.
One could say it's a mixture of a bunch of stolen ideas from other movies, but if it's a really great cocktail, better than its ingredients, why complain.
Gotta buy this one, not leaving it as a 2160p file on HDD.
