Not liking this half a product Steelbook new trend. I enjoy watching the films in 3D and this justifies the pre order outlay.

£25 for 3D/2D Steelbook was bearable.
£25 for a single disc is not.

The 4k cost is too high currently.

Should be £25 for 4k/2D disc. Until that happens, or price cuts occur, I am out of buying on release.

Gutted as I guess the Marvel films will drop to one disc going forward. That makes my collection incomplete.

It all makes sense now, if we're being charged £25 for 2d releases, Disney have been charitable in the past and been releasing 3d editions as a freebie. All makes sense now, so pay up the extra cash for the 4K like we've all been doing....and pay the standard entry fee if you don't

P.S. Lets see how Disney are going to come up with something that will impress us as it certainly won't be this.

We haven't. Zavvi and especially HMV have massive stock piles of 4K they bought and haven't sold. they are lucky if they shift even 20% of 4K titles they order. Hence Zavvi's recent sale where 80% of the titles massively reduced were 4K and for 4K fans the Boxing Day sale at HMV will see nearly all their 4K titles reduced. I can't wait as I've bought very few due to price, but will be there Boxing Day to get caught up on 4K titles

Yup, my sweeping statement really does only cover a few steelbook purchases with 4K content and certainly isn't fact. I agree with you about the majority of 4K stock piles not selling out and fueling sales. I'm kinda happy that the pickup is real slow and ultimately should drive costs down. If you can get them in bargains, big thumbs up to them savings too...

Probably off topic now, so back to Mary Poppins and I wonder if the steel will be a sell out...or not, I suspect the latter given the Zavvi price bracket they've pitched them at...

no not bothered at that price at all. something tells me there goona be hanging on to this for a while.
personally if everyone on here boycotted this steel wouldn't that send a nice message back!
problem is people are too weak

basil

Don't get what everyone is complaining about. This is a Disney release... Disney can ask the retailer to sell at whatever price they want because people will pay for Disney

Watched this last night in the IMAX and it was an enjoyable family film.
On the 4K wagon now at home.
£32.99 is too high a price for a 4k Disney steel.
I will wait for this to drop in price I feel.

Not all people - I won't pay these prices and I don't care what the film is like (refused to buy any 4K only HMV steelbook at £30).

I also won't buy a non 3D version of a film that received a 3D theatrical release.

Am I bothered about missing out on this (or any other) steel; nope, not at all - rather spend my money elsewhere.

Not these days.

Disney thought just slapping a Star Wars logo on something made instant cash.

In an era of streaming and downloading, the buying of specialist physical media is not the biggest market.

From a personal point of view I set a price limit on each release and abide by it.

The lack of a 3D disc but for the same financial outlay is a huge NO.

agreed - £24.99 for 2D only is a joke.

Was wanting to order, and if 4K were included for that price(even though I dont have 4K TV) I'd have been fine to pay that amount - two formats for £25 is fair in my opinion

Personally I would like to see a 1 disc with just the 4k and then set the price appropriately
I am now the only one in the family that watches discs.
All the bluray in the 4K boxes will never come out of them
This was different with Bluray and DVD as no streaming options were available 10 years ago
