88 Films changed the release date back in October 2024 to February.
February 24 date is listed on 88 films webstore and all other retailers.
The release date in thread OP was only updated today as I forgot to do this a few months ago due to been busy at work.
Pre orders done direct with 88 films they have dispatched early sometimes this can be 1-3 weeks before listed release date
Other retailers will ship orders closer to February 24 or after
I ordered my copy from Planet of Entertainment, they're also saying 24th Feb, so it was a surprise to receive it this morning.
88 Films releases are distributed by Elevation Sales
Planet of Entertainment is Elevation Sales consumer retail store website if you were not aware.
Retailers and distributors will sometimes get delivery of stock 1-4 weeks before release date.
Retailers like Amazon/HMV though wait until closer to release date before they take payment and dispatch orders.
Zavvi sometimes will dispatch orders early if they already have delivery to their warehouse.
There is nothing to stop retailers shipping orders early unless a distributor has a release date restriction in place on a product.
I doubt that it will look any different to the previous release. There's been no mention of a restoration or anything.
I'll have to find a review, I suspected as much from the lack of information although sometimes 88 do their own encode like they did for Miami Vice which allegedly looks better than the previous release.
