Most TVs overscaned by that much, unless you had a DVD player that could zoom out, and even better move the image to the side, like Malata N996. After I got it around year 2000, I found out every single DVD was framed wrong.I heard there was differences between the aspect ratio on different releases over the years. This release is 1.85:1, but it's been released as 1.78:1 before.
The art and packaging looks really great. Kids these days see a comic/animated series and with fair regularity it's a live action movie a few years later.Loving the packaging on this edition, but after a rewatch last night I'm beginning to think I should have left this film as a core memory.

Haha... to be fair, it still had me raising my imaginary sword in the air at the end.The art and packaging looks really great. Kids these days see a comic/animated series and with fair regularity it's a live action movie a few years later.
I think we were so deprived in the 80s 90s for the commonality of such a process, we'd lap just about anything up. I'm reluctant to go watch the OG TMNT movies in case I ruin that memory haha
Although having watched MOTU recently, I'm dying on the hill that Frank Langella as Skeletor is one of the best performances for an actor playing a comic villian ever! I'm still all in for a 4k steelbook deluxe collectors edition though. Hopefully with an upgraded audio track. Perhaps a He-man replica sword... Maybe a Gwildor life-size model? Oh and a 1:1 working replica of "The Cosmic Key" is just a no brainer! Nostalgia still has ahold of me!![]()
...Describes every Van Damme movie.Sometimes stupid and naff equals a fun movie.
LOL, a lot of us may actually agree to some extent but remember, it's not marketed to us "now adults"... it was marketed to us "back in the day kids" when this stuff was, as you said, "cool"I watched this last night for the first time since I rented it on VHS, back then it was cool but now it's an absolute horror show.
Oh my god it's absolutely atrocious, the 'acting' is abysmal, the costumes are terrible, the sets are cheap and unconvincing and why does that entire town not have a single civilian wandering around of an evening?
This is one of the absolute worst films I've ever besmirched my eyeballs with BUT....
Well done 88 Films, you did a great job with the disc and it looked way better than I expected it to, you guys did a great job with the encoding.
As for the packaging, it's the very definition of polishing a turd, it's so well polished you can see your face in it, lovely stuff.
It looks great on a shelf or in a display, just don't watch the actual abomination.
100% agree on this although if one of my kids watched it now I reckon they'd turn it off inside 10 minutes.LOL, a lot of us may actually agree to some extent but remember, it's not marketed to us "now adults"... it was marketed to us "back in the day kids" when this stuff was, as you said, "cool"![]()
Haven't got kids yet but I shall test this theory... get back to you in 10 to 15 years100% agree on this although if one of my kids watched it now I reckon they'd turn it off inside 10 minutes.
