Thought it was just an okay movie unfortunately, I certainly had much bigger expectations for it.
I feel like I lowered mine going into it which probably made a difference. Although my feelings on it a day later haven't changed which is normally a positive sign for me.

Just got out. I had a feeling that I'd get out of this and would think "it's good" and little more, but honestly? I ******* loved it. Didn't at all expect it to be as funny and deep as it is. Give me the Manta release!
Saw this last night and totally agree, it goes deep! I do hope this film won't fly over a lot of people's heads as just a mad sci-fi romp... I mean it is that but it's a fair bit more too as you alluded to @NateDog .

Essentially it is political and social commentary intertwined into a science-fiction fantasy-comedy that I'll need to go back to to fully understand and appreciate the depth of. It is mad & bonkers fun alongside some underpinning poignant moments that are reflective of our current reality and the status quo (especially around the relationship between the working class and elitists ). I'm not altogether familiar with the directors works but he has my attention now!

Absolutely wonderful performance from Robert Pattinson too, man that guy has range! Equalled by Mark Ruffalo who is fast becoming something of a comic genius to me after Poor Things and now this. Toni Collette brilliant too.

Sooo looking forward to the Manta release now. :D

Sad that it isn't doing too well at the box office but totally see it getting cult status in years to come.

Edit: Although I did hear it's doing much better outside of USA, in international markets... make of that what you will.

Wow, this comes to digital next Tuesday (March 25). Sad for the movie/director of course, but great news for someone like me who hates going to the cinema!
Warner really are exceptional for this. Will never forget them going behind Legendary's back and deciding to put Dune on a simultaneous theatre and digital release on day one until Villeneuve and Legendary put up a significant fight over it.

Lol I'm proper autistic when it comes to cinemas mate... too loud, too busy, too many distractions for me to concentrate on the movie lol. Much prefer watching them in the comfort of my own home. Glad to hear you had a blast though! Got me even more excited to see it now :D

I totally get it mate. Always go early morning and sometimes wait for few weeks until buzz dies down. Often do 10.30am Saturday and have the cinema to ourselves lol

I like to think you'll like the movie mate

My local cinema is a fetid cesspool of inbred panty sniffers, trench coat wearing troglodytes of indiscriminate age and mean spirited addicts of WD40 dry lubricant.

And to think a box of large popcorn is £9 as well.

Same here considering everything, everywhere was such a fantastic movie. Mark Ruffalo killed pretty much every scene and the love interests went absolutely nowhere. Could have been a cult classic but it fell far short of even middle of the road.
