With the glorious discs, come the duds. Feel free to post any discs you feel members should avoid. Please include country of release, and why you found the disc 'bad'.

Thanks in advance for your contribution!

I must have had my expectation to high. When I saw Wall Street it seemed like an ok HDTV broadcast but nothing like a Blu-ray. I havent seen the newer BB Filmaker's edition, I know I loved the cover art! I wonder if the newer BB versions of Wall Street is a newer transfer as well?

it is a new transfer. newly struck and supervised by Oliver Stone for that particular BD.

still looks dated but nowhere as bad as the original BD looked.

i did hear the audio got remastered as well but i haven't watched my copy in full yet to confirm

also first edition terminator 2

Just watched The U.K version of Teaching Mrs Tingle. It has a seriously bad transfer, borderline DVD quality at times.

Master and Commander is the worst transfer I have yet to see. It looks like a DVD at best and at times it looks worse. And to think it came in a nice digibook. So lame.

Undoubtedly, 28 Days Later was a total disappointment. I'd hyped it up in my brain about how awesome it was gonna be but didn't learn until after that it had been filmed almost entirely in MiniDV. Blu-ray obviously can't fix that, but with what I know now, I'd probably pass on the purchase today.

I was disappointed with Brazil (fr) digibook. It was released DTS HD-MA 2.0 but now in the US, it's coming on from criterion. I also don't enjoy Blu-rays released in 640 DD audio like the single disc of RED. No Blu-ray should have anything but HD audio, period

Jurassic Park and Predator most certainly. But Aliens didn't impress me nor The current crop of Hammer UK releases. Too many problems either with sound or over use of DNR. I"m hoping that An American company will do a better job of the Hammer films. The Curse of Frankenstein was dire. I saw a mates copy and thought he'd put in an upscaled DVD by mistake. If they screw up Dracula next year, I'll be the first to put the team up against the wall minus blindfold and give the order to fire.......

The UK release of Machine Girl is by far the worst I've ever seen. It was as if they just transferred the VHS on to a Blu-ray disc... absolutely shocking quality.

Bit disappointed with godfather trilogy on blu ray, with way too obvious digital grain added on some scenes but then absent a few seconds later. I found myself fidgeting with tv settings trying to better it.

It's the 80s movies that suffer the most I think. As other's have said, Robocop is a mediocre blu ray. Commando is probably even worse, with no extras on the blu ray either. And The Terminator still bugs me. The original blu ray looked no better than my DVD, the new release suffers from the 'teal and orange' effect and all are missing the original (mono) soundtrack. I keeping hoping they'll release a new disc for the 30th anniversary, but I expect, if they do anything, it will be the same disc in a new case.

300 or War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise). When I first got my plasma my relatives wanted to see these two movies since they had much praise. To all of our disappointments, they both look like movies made pre-2000 technology.

Not sure why no one has posted in this thread in such a long time, but I figured I'd bring it back! :D

I just recently watched 'Freezer'
I am a big Dylan McDermott, especially after the first Season of AHS and picked this up on a blind buy.

The cover looked pretty cool and it came with a UV copy, which is always a plus.
I was actually very excited to watch it, but it was a huge let down.
The acting was lame and story was pretty stupid.
Just a boring overall movie. Would not suggest this to you guys out there.
