Background is just the bare silver metal of the steelbook.

While I dunno about the white-ness template,

I received these steelbooks yesterday and the background is just the bare silver metal of the steelbook.

I'm almost 100% sure they are B-C locked because Disney has the US distribution rights for these titles.

Yes they are all Region B locked, I received some yesterday.

looks like they used a more crystal clear plastic than usual for the inside which helps the artwork pop even more.

Yes it does look so much better to view the artwork through the plastic.

I want to buy more for Christmas presents but the price is still too high.

Yup, the insides are all lovely choices. Do carry on with this series Studio Canal! We need the likes of Kiki, Mononoke, Spirited Away, and every Ghibli classic to get the steel treatment!

Here we go again. Great inside artwork but the rest is dull silver and dull finish.
Indeed shame as these would have looked quality steels with white backdrop instead of sliver, will wait for a massive sale on them in couple of months down the road b4 I bite, for now I am more than happy with my Japanese Blu-Ray digipak up-to-date collection (Princess Mononoke & The Cat Returns will be out next month so can't wait) ;)

I can only agree to what was said before, after getting these myself yesterday. The inside Artwork is the best aspect of these releases. But the quality is very low, I ordered several of all the 4 films, and almost every Steel has scratches or other strange problems (like strange spots, or color misprints). I`m really unimpressed about the silver and that they waisted so much space on the front and back. The Ghibli Movies are some of the best Movies made so they would have deserved a much better release. These Steels seem rushed as if the Studio simply wanted to cash in on the Steelbook crazyness and also wanted to release them before christmas.
All the Films have so much beautiful images in the Movies, or so many great promotional images that could have been used. These could have been much better, which is sad than with cooler Steelbooks more people would have bought them. I can`t say enough how much I love the Ghibli Movies but this relaese is a dissapontment, which makes a fan really sad:tear:

Got my set today from Amazon in a gigantic box that had each steelbook individually boxed inside of it. I seem to be in the minority but I LOVE the look of this set. Here are some pics I took...

These also have the noticeable "dents" on the corners that the Walking Dead steelbooks are showing up with. My crap camera is having a hard time capturing them so that they show up though.
