Very disappointed with the slips, the "this is not Manta anymore" feeling is here again :dunno:

Steelbook is great, but damn those slips are terrible, I can´t believe it. DL seriously? Actors leaning towards...what? Jesus, what a fail. Single lenti is a joke I think lol :hilarious::rofl: I mean this scene with Leo dancing is hilarious, but it doesnt work on the slip, and again, the execution of the artwork overall is terrible.....and Fullslip, really don´t know what to think about that...so weird....doesnt fit the film a bit....oh boy, so disappointed with the slips (n)

I think due to the diversity of titles Manta pick they'll always be some releases where they struggle not just for artwork but artwork that doesn't repeat what companies before them have used

When you look through their back catalogue quite a few of those past releases use questionable artwork on some of the slips, a lot of the time it's the SL edition that tends to be the most bold a lot of the time using what appear to be stills from the film in question rather than the traditional poster artwork for example

For me I'm not seeing any difference with Joker and this compared to the previous releases and we've been assured all along that it's the same design team as always it's just the products themselves are now being sold on a different site. Guess the proof will be when we get these in hand but I don't see any reason to doubt anything at the moment :)

dont particularly love any editions but went for the DL.

its a shame the one click box art wasnt for a FS edition. i wouldve been head over heels for that

Think I'm gonna go for the SL, although my only complaint with that one is they've just slapped a promo shot of Pitt on the back and called it a day... hate when they do that as it looks really lazy and out of place when compared to the front.

Would've only taken 10 minutes (8 more mins than it took me to do a rush-job at it lol) to cut the trailer out behind Pitt and use the same coloured background as the front to make both sides feel like they actually belong together.

Really quick/simple change, but makes the world of difference IMO. Case in point...

Well, that’s tricky. The Fanatics slip is the same as the best ML one imo (DL). The ME steel is nice, same design as folder in the Fanatics. Think I prefer the WWA steel mind. The Yellow Lenti is at least different, Don’t love the art on the FS. It’s good art, but doesn’t suit the film. No 4K!
Felt sure I’d get one of these but not so sure now...
Think it’s all about the Fanatics tbh.

I will likely go with the Full Slip

I prefer in general Manta Labs Full Slips over their lenti releases with a few exceptions on some previous releases.

I'm sure the finish and embossing on the full slip will look good

Steelbook itself looks great

The one click looks fantastic but to pricey for me

he wonders, as the small hours call...
will Manta v2 do an FA a mix up the goodies to make things interesting...

he is happy they don't, but still thinks, ...maybe that would be cool...requires work though..., so,, why would they bother...

I'm feeling like an outcast, but I like the SL the most. The back's a bit weird, but still, I'm going to buy that one.

What do you think, will the disc be Region A locked again? Collectong website states (Region: A) - B,C: Untested.
Remember La La Land? It was released by Panorama as well, also Region locked.

I am Trying to find the manta lab Facebook in English, the one where manta used to promote their releases, their release schedule, always an update from John, pictures of new releases etc... and I am only finding a foreign one with not much manta lab exclusive Releases.

Am I lost ? :cautious:

Also what is collectong ?

:dunno:

Yes you are :p
Manta are no longer selling their product. Their Manta FB page is geared towards distribution. Sign up to both collectong page on FB and their website. That’s where you will find the content you really want to see. Collectong is the retailer in charge of selling the manta products as we know them.

Manta got the license to the distributor of WB products in HK so they are doing that ... they have made a deal or something with Collectong whom is now pretty much heading up their premiums. Seems John with Manta would/will support them with consulting and possibly m roe if need be but his main focus is now with WB titles as their are strict deadlines to get that stuff out on time much like how you see regular wb titles in your own Country.

Box is nice
Publisher logo is ugly
Full slip looks bad, hopefully the "finish" makes it pop and I can stand corrected
The SL has Leo looking like he's struggling to squeeze out a turd.
The DL is the winner by default.

Was interested to see what you thought of these designs. Great review lol
