Jason Bateman (Arrested Development) stars in the series and also serves as an executive producer and director. Bateman stars as Marty Byrde, alongside Academy Award nominee Laura Linney (The Truman Show, The Savages) as his wife Wendy.

The Byrdes and their teenage kids, Charlotte and Jonah, are, for all intents and purposes, an ordinary family with ordinary lives. Except for the job of Marty, a Chicago financial advisor who also serves as the top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico. When things go awry, Marty must uproot his family from the skyscrapers of Chicago and relocate to the lazy lake region of the Missouri Ozarks.

This dark drama, which also stars Esai Morales (Chicago P.D., NYPD Blue), Julia Garner (The Americans, We Are What We Are), Marc Menchaca (Homeland, Generation Kill), Jason Butler Harner (Ray Donovan, Alcatraz) and Harris Yulin (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, 24), explores capitalism, family dynamics and survival through the eyes of (anything but) ordinary Americans.

Created by Bill Dubuque (The Judge, The Accountant), the series premieres on July 21 on Netflix.

This is crazy. When I first watched the trailer I thought it was a feature film. Almost looks like something Fincher would make!?

I just looked up who directed the series and its JASON BATEMAN!!! WHAT!? Impressive!

This show is brilliant! Binged it on monday and tuesday.

Have to say that the pilot is one of the best I've seen for a good while.

Bateman impresses a lot. Highly recommended. :)

@spass I just finished it on Tuesday... and :OMG::OMG::OMG: That finale was fu**ing crazy! And I completely agree about the pilot, I was hooked once it started! :hungry: I've never seen Bateman like this, bring on Season 2! :woot:
