well they lost this customer and i buy alot of hmv ex,s but due to them not separating the 4k release im not paying 30 sheets for that steel,That's ok including 4K disc as long as price not more than what a 3D/2D steelbook would be
You risk customers not purchasing a release if it becomes more expenesive than previously and not even have the equipment to play a 4K disc
Separate steelbooks cover both range of customers without affecting sales
When majority of homes have 4K TV then they can do mass 4K only releases and have prices low as well
You are paying more than you previously paid for a 3D/2D steelbook of similar release3D AND 4K!!
Yes!!!
Sold! (Not that I have a 4K tv yet but dispise when you are forced to choose.)
Should have an option for all or nothing - a single, barebones 2D only, or multi-format version(could even throw a DVD copy in there if they like. No more of this 3D or 4K option rubbish)
Looks like they remade for annoying millennial teen audiences! This film is getting slatted just a CGI mess.
You are paying more than you previously paid for a 3D/2D steelbook of similar release
It should be separate steelbooks unless they include 4K disc at no extra cost involved
A 3D/2D steelbook price of a new release film would be £20 to £24
Your paying £30 instead of £20 for a steelbook and you don't even have a 4K Tv
Film distributors should only include 4K disc in a 3D/2D steelbook if price same as previous 3D/2D steelbook
The limited number of consumers embracing 4K should not affect the majority who have no interest in 4K
You get sales by covering both range of customers without price going up
Retailers will be left with unsold stock as customers wont purchase with increased price when it includes a disc they cant even use
Hmv will struggle to sell this steelbook at £30
The previous Pacific Rim 2D/3D/Bonus Disc (3 Discs) Steelbook in 2013 cost £20 and less with some retailers
Film distributors should only include 4K disc in a 3D/2D steelbook if price same as previous 3D/2D steelbook
Sorry but what were you smoking when you typed that.

It's not a bargain to those that don't have 4KA 4K bluray by itself is £24.99. With this you get 2D, 3D and 4K in a steelbook for an extra £5. I think its a bargain especially for those of us with a 3D & 4K tv
It's not a bargain to those that don't have 4K
It's an extra £10
Most new films steelbook a 3D/2D steelbook price would be £20 - £22 (Except Disney releases they are £24)
Pacific Rim 2D/3D/Bonus Disc (3 Discs) Steelbook new release purchased in 2013 cost £20
Those that want 4K it should be a separate steelbook and it would also mean it been cheaper than £30 as it would be 4K/2D Steelbook
A lot of 4K Tv's now also can't play 3D so there will be some customers with a 3D disc they also can't play even if they are 4K setup
A lot of customers who don't have 4K TV or 4K UHD player will not pay £30 when they previously usually only pay £20 - £22 for a 3D/2D steelbook
Majority of customers don't have 4K so why should they have to pay extra for a disc they won't be using
Retailer Sales will be affected as most don't have 4K the majority are 2D/3D Setup
You avoid this problem by doing separate steelbooks

It's not problem solvedWell other EU country's im sure will release a 2D & 3D or just 2D so just get it from there instead, Problem solved
Yeah. And the young actress is quite annoying, doesn't fit!Looks like they remade for annoying millennial teen audiences!
Struggling to believe some of the utter hogwash I'm reading in here.
Try buying a 4k 3D/2D Blu Ray package from any other retailer for less than £30
We are talking about HMV 3D/2D Steelbook price compared to 4K/3D/2D priceStruggling to believe some of the utter hogwash I'm reading in here.

Where's the critisism of Best Buy for their $50 4k standalone releases?
Zavvi simply can't take the competition in the UK, as they usually have a £30+ starting point for any 4k release.
Don't believe the hype from a certain forum member about how damaging this great deal is for collectors. Crazy.
Spiderman Homecoming and War of the planet of the Apes both of these steelbooks was 4K/3D/2D price was £24.99

I think HMV are great personally and really do set fair prices along with Zoom, so we have at least one thing to agree on.We are talking about HMV 3D/2D Steelbook price compared to 4K/3D/2D price
HMV 3D/2D Steelbook prices most have been £19.99 to £22.99
Most 4K/2D and 3D/2D steelbooks have been separate steelbooks and it works better as it's cheaper for those that don't want 4K
Most HMV steelbooks 4K/2D have been £19.99 to £24.99
Spiderman Homecoming and War of the planet of the Apes both of these was 4K/3D/2D price was £24.99
The previous Pacific Rim 3D/2D Steelbook in 2013 was £19.99 with most retailers
The only other 4K/3D/2D steelbook that was £29.99 was Blade Runner Mondo Steelbook
Zavvi have not done 4K/3D/2D steelbooks they been separate steelbooks with some of these been split between HMV and Zavvi
It's still an extra £10.00 customers are paying than what they paid previously
4K UHD sales are tiny worldwide
Revenue from disc sales was down 14% to $4.7 billion dollars in 2017
4K UHD sales from this $4.7 Billion was only a meager $147 million dollars of revenue last year.
I like a lot of other customers don't want steelbook that was previously £20 be increased in price to £30
If Hmv had of done separate 3D/2D Steelbook the price would have been £19.99 to £22.99
A separate 4K/2D Steelbook price would have been £19.99 to £24.99
Both set of customers would of had to pay less and you get more sales as a result
The 4K steelbook been leeser of the print run
Exact same steelbook both with 2 disc hubs to hold the discs
