About the Game

PAIN™ boldly tackles a rarely explored area of video-gaming… comedy. The unique mechanic of the game allows the player to load a character into a human-sized, ultra-powerful slingshot, and fire the character into an active, physics-controlled environment, filled with precarious and humorous situations. Players receive points by stringing together painful collisions and inducing chaos in the environment.

Upcoming PAIN Expansion Features Wedgies, Aliens and Trophies

Looks like PAIN, PSN's #1 game of 2008, is getting yet another expansion.

To quote: The next expansion, "Sore Spots," will add two environments: the Morningwood High School gymnasium and the alien-infested Area 69.

The expansions will also introduce a few new modes, such as the "Fun With Explosives" inspired "PAIN Science" mode.

The official PAIN blog features more details on the upcoming expansion, but we've taken a peek at the new PS3 Trophies for the upcoming expansion. To see Idol Minds' devilish new achievements, check below:

Gold Trophy
- Sore Spotting- Find and hit the alien artifact in both PAIN Reunion and Sports Day and the sports trophy in both PROBE and Afterglow

Silver Trophies
- Secret Santa- Open all the unlocked lockers in PAIN Reunion using Santa
- Handy-Capped- Complete Mad Science! PAINful without grabbing

Bronze Trophies
- Lo Touch- Grab teleporting Hung Lo in PAIN Reunion
- Everyone's a Winner- Get a negative distance on the Anvil Toss in PAINalympics
- It's Full of Cars- Send the black sedan through the portal in PROBE

This game sucks, hard. Everyone bought it thinking it would something, and its not. Waste of money. Noby Noby Boy is a better game for $5.

Hi folks, In May, we will be releasing the Sore Spots add-on for PAIN. Check out a preview:
http://www.viddler.com/explore/sceablog/videos/333/0.825

Not only does Sore Spots continue the rich tradition of the silly fun that is PAIN, Sore Spots also includes a new multiplayer Mode that I’d like to introduce. It’s called “PAINalympics”, and it’s where two to four players can compete in the following events:

Horseshoes – There are four giant horseshoes floating in front of the launcher, and your task is to snatch them and try for a ringer. You have four launches.Whatcha gon’ do?

Bull Ride – Imagine a large group of mechanical bulls, each atop a large column. Launch, grab, and hold on to as many bulls as you can. Ready to ride, cowboys and cowgirls?

Rope Kick – Test your Ooching skills by launching and grabbing a rope that you have to hold onto and swing on, knocking down as many of the characters in the area as you can in 30 seconds.

Balloony Bin – You have 45 seconds to push, pull, drag, or otherwise force balloons into trash bins. Extra points for the red ones!

Stack Whacker – All you have to do here is knock down a wall of boxes in as few launches as possible. If you’re good, you can probably use some exploding objects to help do the job more quickly.

Anvil Toss – Snatch an anvil out of the air and chuck it as far as you can. Watch out for the cherry bombs and exploding chemicals on the floor, though!

Relay Race – Keep your Pimp Slap Hand strong and smack, smack, smack your way to the finish line in the best time…and don’t forget the baby powder!

Punt Ball – Knocking a ball through a goal is sometimes a lot harder than it seems. Extra points if you hit the characters who are dancing between the goal posts.

Swing N’ Dunk – Grab the ring, swing, release…wait for it…wait for it…Oooch your character through the basketball hoop. Harder rings grant a higher reward.

Sore Spots is headed your way on Thursday, May 14th, and we’ll be releasing Ded Baron, a new launchable character, the following week. At the same time as Sore Spots, though, comes a little bonus – You’ll also be able to get a free download of another beloved PlayStation personality, which you may have just read about. He’s a little shy, but here’s a screenshot that will give you an idea of who we’re talking about.

See you in Sore Spots!

Get your PAIN on Blu-ray disc

Fans of the PlayStation Network game PAIN will soon have the option to buy a Blu-ray disc copy of the quirky PlayStation 3 title.

You’ll find every environment created thus far -- Downtown, Movie Studios, Abusement Park and Sore Spots -- in the disc version of the game. Choose your victim and fling them into tanks, cannons or exploding teddy bears to create as much pain as possible.

Characters appearing on the Blu-ray include Jarvis, Tati, Ginger, Cookie, and Deb Baron. Play through crazy game modes like darts, mime toss, fortress, and spank the monkey. The PAIN labs will also be included in the disc copy, so you’ll have access to beta-style levels for free from Idol Minds on a weekly basis.

The disc will be released on June 24 in Europe, June 25 in Australia and New Zealand, and June 26 in the United Kingdom and Ireland for €24.99/£19.99.
NA Release???
