Hey guys

Just a quickie

I've got an item on ebay right now and have a potential buyer from Germany wanting to pay outside of ebay to save on fees

I'm just wondering if i chose to do this transaction via Paypal, could there be any downside to it?

could he reverse the payment and leave me without cash and item?

thanks

hi buddy,

i am from germany and its impossible for german people to pay as a gift, that means YES he can just open a paypal case after he did the regular paypal payment and after he got the item and you lost the money as well as your item

he does have feedback over 300+ and thought it would be safe.

What about a bank transfer?

no problem :)

if he has a lot of positive feedback i think you can trust most people out there but you never know,of course^^

if you want to hear my opinion: there is the same risk if you sell the item on ebay without ending the auction early...

he can also buy the item after the auction ended, then just wait until he got it and open a case (reason:item is not as described),ask for a full refund and never send the item back...
i would save the ebay fees and sell it to that person XD

yes of course thats a lot safer for you. if you do a bank tranfer(i dont know if thats the same in other countries)its impossible to get the money back...

but there are fees you have to pay for bank transfers from germany to UK.these are a lot higher than the 4% PP fees, soi am not sure if he agrees to use that payment method but you could give it a try:thumbs:

IMO its the same amount of risk selling on eBay or outside of it when receiving a regular paypal payment.

yes correct, even if the buyer lives in the same county and you can prove the arrival of your item with the tracking number he can always use "item is not as described" or "package was empty" reason to get the money back:(
