there is always the Arrow release from a few years ago. Odds are they are the exact same transfers. (Umbrella doesn't do restoration work on films)
Same extras too.
You are right-They added a few new commentaries. (But they are critical commentaries- not by anyone associated with the film. Which some people may like. But I (personal opinion) only really care to hear from people who were actually involved in the making of the film.)
I will, however, have to think about those slipcovers. I quite like them, especially the upstream color.
