Sony America has said that PlayStation Network is scheduled to undergo maintenance today for approximately two hours between 9am PST – 11am PST (that’s 5pm – 7pm for UK audiences)

Obviously, this means that you’ll be unable to engage in any online matches or sign into PSN during this time. As it happens, the maintenance (for most part, at least) coincides with Sony’s GamesCom press conference later today.

Hopefully when it goes back online there will be a few surprises waiting for us. In the meantime, PSU will be covering all the latest goings-on from GamesCom throughout the day for your consumption, so be sure to stick around.

PSN to undergo maintenance later today

Sony Europe has announced that PlayStation Network is scheduled to undergo maintenance today at 4pm GMT and will be down for roughly 90 minutes.

As you’d expect, you won’t be able to sign in to the online service during this period, so luxuries such as the PlayStation Store, Account Manager across all platforms, forums, blogs and other bits and bobs will be strictly off limits until maintenance is complete.

Hopefully things should be back up and running by 5.30pm GMT.

PlayStation Network Regular Scheduled Maintenance

PlayStation Network will undergo maintenance tomorrow, October 28, 2010. Maintenance is expected to start at just after 7:00 am Pacific and will last for several hours, until approximately 3:30 pm Pacific. During this time, users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home or Account Management, and may encounter difficulty while signing in to PSN.
Please stay tuned to the PlayStation Twitter feed for a notice when PSN is fully back online.
