A pretty decent movie set in the same universe, as I wouldn't call it a sequel, or a prequel. Good actors and production value, wouldn't notice it's a DTV film. But there are some green screen scenes there, and a muddy CGI final monster looking like it's 1999's House on Haunted Hill.
Unnecessary racial 'righteousness' added, and 'diversity', but at least the French character is played by half-french Australian actress, and there were Chinese in Utah in 1800s, so it's not all wrong and imposingly superficial.
I'd rather have a TV series like that though.
